I don't like that Hickbottom is Eddie's guy. That tells me that he is going to play a lot regardless of our record going forward.
I am not sure if Eddie realized that one of the reasons that Hickbottom left Grambling is because he lost the job.

Yeah I as surprised that Hickbottom was given so much praise. But I think this may have been filmed prior to the season. I do think they are sincere about what they are trying to do at TSU and I get a good vibe from their interaction. I wish they would take the time to highlight more players and give just a little hint about where they would like to see the athletic program go in the future (conference affiliation).

It's not for the coaches to discuss conference affiliation. That's on the AD.

They don't need to be all open like Deon but just hint around a bit and give us something to speculate about. Maybe say something like this fine institution is one that could be sought after in a couple of years to expend and play in a conference at a higher level... hint hint But let us know you have a vision..

If Hickbottom is Eddie's preference, then don't sub him out. I would give all first-team snaps to Hickbottom.

This episode was filmed before Canton. Jackson mentioned his foundation preparing to do something at Canton. Probably filmed before Hickbottom had to sit out for Covid.
But it does explain why they are big on him, for now.

Lol, you're going to have to wait on an interview with Allen or Glover for that kind of conversation.

It’s a nice take. I just wish they publicize these before the start of the season. Would have been a great intro into the program and season. Now 0-2, some of the comments look rather silly.

coach George drops FBS HINT!!! LOL go to the 19:45 mark I think his comments on growth and FBS are an indication that TSU is not just waiting to see what is going to happen with the OVC. We're facing a tough decision regarding the future of our program in terms of conference affiliation and level of play. It's not as simple as we'd like for it to be. I'm a bit surprised that he mentioned the monies owed to TSU by the State as part of the land grant funding disparity. I will be surprised to see any of that money used significantly towards the athletics program. There may be some monies set aside for athletics, but the State is going to be watching how and overseeing how TSU uses that money. I don't see them being onboard with spending an significant portion on athletic facilities, conference affiliation, etc. Also, it appears that Eddie is settling into understanding, recognizing and speaking to the history of TSU football. I liked that he acknowledged previous coaches to include Big John, LC and Reed. I like that he's taking the time to build his knowledge of TSU's football legacy. He's seems to be growing more comfortable in speaking about it.

It is official!!! We can start speculating on conference affiliation and FBS and it is not so far fetched anymore... Which is more likely??
ASUN then jump to FBS ASUN and stay FCS SWAC go FBS with SWAC schools FBS independent and then go Sunbelt or Conf USA
One of the above may happen sooner that later based on his comments and the desire to build a major league stadium on campus.... Lets not forget hockey.

I agree Denver, TSU would preferably move to FBS than ASUN or SWAC. However, I think anything is possible. But if I had money on this, I would say TSU stays in the OVC until the FBS comes calling…#moneysaver.
Yeah, it’s interesting he mentioned the money owed to the university. Yet, I have a feeling that the Tenn. Gov. will find a way/cheapest way to pay back TSU. And that also includes how they (Tenn) can get something out of it in return…like a baseball stadium. And as stated in another article, the government is not just going to give TSU money. They’re going find the cheapest way possible to pay/provide resources to TSU.

We are way off from going D1 FBS. First we have to add 3 more sports because you have to have 16 sports. Also because of title 9 I think we have to add 1 or 2 of those 3 in women’s sports. That also means money for scholarships. Second our home game attendance is no where close to 15k and you have to average that for two years. Third we would need an upgrade in facilities. You can’t compete with those schools and athletes stay in Boyd hall. You can’t compete when the locker room for football can’t even house the entire team. I like that the AD and Coach George are addressing the facilities but I really like Deion’s approach to FCS. He doesn’t even speak on it anymore. He concentrating on making the football team a major competitor he is getting the facilities taken care of. If you notice he hasn’t mentioned FBS lately. He is mentioning leveling the playing field.
