I'm actually intrigued by Southern's first three games. That should definitely be a nice measuring stick for their season expectations.

I like JSU first three games too. All three of those should get some national air time. The first two simply because of the crowd that they might draw.

Both have pretty nice schedules. I like Soutern's schedule a lot. 5 home games, including McNeese and FAMU, plus the Bayou classic. And if you're going to pick a D-II school for SU, Miles is a good one to choose. Miles has a nice band, that might put more butts in the seats.

I wish Miles could get there numbers up. I think they could make some noise at the fcs level. Band and football.

I've said over and over again that TSU should entertain Miles College for an annual JMC opponent.
Now Miles College has replaced Tuskegee in Alabama State's Labor Day Classic.
Alabama State to host Miles College in 2021 Labor Day Classic
The crowd that Miles brings rivals that faithful fanbase of the Tuskegee fanbase.

I'd say yes. TXSU is trying to mimic the State Fair Classic (Prairie View & Grambling) with Southern. FAMU has been trying to bring back the Orange Blossom Classic for a while. Hence the year we played down in Tampa. Miami is where they want to be. FAMU wants to re-establish and strengthen their brand in Miami/South Florida. Get it back to where it was in the 60s,70s, 80s. Had a friend from FAMU tell me they want to essentially have 3/4 homecomings (Atlanta Classic, Florida Classic and actual homecoming). Thinking the Orange Blossom Classic may act as the fourth one. It's worth a shot, they have so many alum in Atlanta and Miami. I think if TSU joined the SWAC, you'd see us get into a classic or two. I expected the Atlanta Classic to come back before FAMU joined the SWAC, I still think it's a possibility. I could also see us in a game in the Midwest (Detroit, Chicago, Indianapolis) against Southern or Grambling. After Memphis & Nashville, our strongest alumni bases are in Atlanta & the midwest.

Being in the SWAC for TSU would open up a lot of financial scenarios, of course the home and home with our rivals would be baked in, but if a promoter wanted to buy one of our home games for a substantial amount of money, then we'd have that option too...Doesn't mean we would do it, just means that we could look at it. The Atlanta Classic between TSU and FAMU was a hit amongst fans of both Schools when the only thing on the line was bragging rights, What would it look like if they were members of the same conference playing for a title?

Orange Blossom Classic would have returned last year
FAMU v. Albany State but fall sports were cancelled last year.

That's the kind of schedule that I would LOVE to see for TSU... FBS - Marshall Nice OOC FCS games against 3 HBCUs including traditional rival NC A&T which is an OOC game. And heck, then even have Tennessee Tech at HOME just to mix it up. Plus, looks like only ONE Classic game in Atlanta to start the season.
