Due to Alcorn opting out of spring ball, the SWAC has decided to alter the location of some of their games in the fall. For instance, Southern was suppose to host Alcorn in the spring...but now what was originally a game at Alcorn in the fall moves to Baton Rouge. That means SU doesn't leave Louisiana from homecoming on. That schedule this got that much sweeter for SU, but sucks that much more for Alcorn. I think 3 games in total switch from home games to road games in the fall.

Nice, kudos to UCLA. You don't see too many HBCUs make it out to Pac-12 country. Only one that comes to mind is Grambling. They've played Cal-Berkeley and Arizona if my memory serves me correctly.

Right, other than that, only thing that comes to mind are the Classics that were played out there in LA.

I believe TSU played a CA school in the playoffs back in the 80's. But don't quote me on that. Certainly not a P5 school.
There's been way too much hype of this on FB. I don't get why playing UCLA is any bigger of a deal than an HBCU playing any P5 FBS school. Some people are highlighting all the exposure ASU and NCCU will get from playing UCLA. If these games aren't televised they'll get no more exposure than playing another FCS school realistically. Yes, the money is great. But let's not overstate the impact of these games.
I applaud both schools for getting on UCLA's schedule. But, it's really no different than BCU being on Florida State's or Miami's schedules, which they have done several times and plan to continue to doing so in the future. I think it would be far better for ASU to be on Alabama's or Auburns schedule. For NCCU, I think it would better if it was a NC, SC or VA ACC or SEC team.
There are still some SEC and Big 10 schools that have yet to schedule an HBCU. I don't think Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee or Texas A&M have ever scheduled an HBCU in football. Other than Ohio State and Maryland, I don't know of any Big 10 school scheduling an HBCU.

I would surmise they are referring to exposure in the California, specifically, greater LA metro, market versus a market they currently have (Alabama / North Carolina).

Alabama State, ‘Skegee to meet in Turkey Day ClassicTuskegee University and Alabama State will meet in the Turkey Day Classic for the first time in nearly a decade this fall
MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the Fall 2021 football schedule Thursday, highlighted by the renewal of a rivalry at the Turkey Day Classic against Tuskegee.
Alabama State and Tuskegee will meet on November 25 inside ASU Stadium in what will be the 89th meeting between the two schools on Thanksgiving Day.
“This is exciting news for our fans and alumni,” Alabama State Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jennifer Lynne Williams said. “Alabama State and Tuskegee have a long-standing tradition of playing on Thanksgiving, with the game being one of the most historic classics in the country. We look forward to hosting them again at ASU Stadium.”
The Hornets will open the 2021 fall campaign against Miles in the annual Labor Day Classic inside ASU Stadium on September 4, renewing a series that started back in 1921. The two teams last met in Montgomery (Turkey Day Classic) in 2016. Following that contest, Alabama State will travel to Auburn for their lone non-conference game against an FBS opponent on September 11.
Alabama State opens conference play at home on September 25 against new conference foe Bethune-Cookman on Greek Day in Montgomery. The meeting between the two is the first since 2012 and will be the 16th meeting all-time. The Hornets will then hit the road to face the other new member of the conference on October 2 when they take on Florida A&M. It will be the first meeting since 2008 between the two and the 38th meeting all-time.
Following the back-to-back contests against SWAC East Division foes, the Hornets will host UAPB at ASU Stadium on October 9 for homecoming before traveling to Jackson State on October 16. After a bye week, the Hornets and Alabama A&M meet in Birmingham for the McDonald’s Magic City Classic on October 30 for the first of five consecutive games for Alabama State to end 2021.
The Hornets hit the road for back-to-back road contests against Prairie View A&M (November 6) and Mississippi Valley State (November 13) before hosting Texas Southern for Military Appreciation Day on November 20 at ASU Stadium. The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship game is set for December 4.
The announcement comes on the heels of Alabama State announcing a spring contest with South Carolina State at ASU Stadium, with kick set for April 3, 2021.
So now that they have moved homecoming to the middle of the season, the Turkey Day Classic will still continue on Thanksgiving Day. Tuskegee will pack the visitors side as they normally do.

At least someone sees the value in playing D2 schools for historic and traditional reasons... This is a nice schedule. ASU will also play Auburn for the second time if I am not mistaken...

Thats about the only way they'd be able to maintain a Turkey day classic. Putting anyone else there just won't draw the same crowd as Skegee.

Interesting that they separated out Homecoming as well. If I'm not mistaken, usually the Turkey Day Classic was also homecoming in past years where Tuskegee was the opponent. I think it's a smart move with FAMU and Cookman joining the conference. Add another payday/sellout. If you play FAMU, BCU, or JSU for homecoming (making sure they bring their band)...that should be a sellout as well.

Turkey Day Classic was ALWAYS homecoming for Ala State. 2019 they finally switched homecoming to mid-season BUT they kept the Turkey Day Classic. Miles is the only other opponent who packed the visitor side for Turkey Day Classic. Stillman College tried it twice but didn't bring a crowd. PVAM didn't really bring a crowd either. Its an IN-STATE-RIVALRY that works with either Tuskegee OR Miles and thats all.

I like what Bama St is doing with their schedule... Labor day Classic, Auburn, Homecoming, Magic City Classic, Turkey Day Classic... All in state teams/rivals... Thinking outside the box on what will bring a payday... Who needs or cares about the playoffs... This is way more exciting.. (to me..)
Find a way to play a bowl game between the SWAC and IVY leagues...

I LOVE the Magic City Classic. Man they do it all that weekend. Keep in mind they have been doing it since 1940 which includes several changes in conference affiliation/division too. Thats what I mean when I say TRADITION. Folks come out for that who may never go to another game all season. It is truly an event. IF you have never been, yall should check it out!!!
