PB will probably be a tougher challenge than Valley.

Poor Deion is forever going to take sole responsibility for taking JSU out of SHC, lol. Can't say he didn't do his part, but his actions were definitely with the encouragement of some others. I know Eddie would love to have a true rival, but I have a feeling JSU is not going to have any interest in playing tsu for a while.

I think EG is being disrespectful to UAPB; talking about JSU as a possible SHC future opponent is not a good look. He should be promoting the game.

The JSU fanbase felt for years that the SHC didn't pay the schools fair worth, which I'd agree with. Deion definitely added fuel to the fire though because 2. he felt the SHC was taking a home game and ultimately a game worth of revenue from JSU, but more importantly to him 1. because he had an attendance clause in his contract, the SHC was taking a potential attendance bonus payment from him.

He tried to clean it up with "maybe a home and home" but it was to late. Now my question is did he say out loud what a lot if our fan base feels? I know I'm guilty.

Keep in mind, the match up for 2025 has not been announced. So, mentioning JSU is not being disrespectful to UAPB. It's stating what pretty much everyone wants to see and what would be a better rivalry for TSU. No need to mince words about it. Besides, UAPB knows the tradition of the TSU/JSU match-up. They know they are not a JSU. It was the same when FAMU pulled out of the Atlanta Classic. TSU always wanted FAMU back and made that known. I don't think SCSU felt disrespectd with TSU making that known. It's business.

You don't want to give your opponent any bulletin board material considering we barely walked out of Memphis with the W last year. Is JSU a big draw for the SHC? Yes. However; that ship has sailed and debating their business decision will not get us anywhere IMO. We can build our brand without JSU, and IMO rotate other HBCUs like Bama State, Alcorn along UAPB into the SHC.

I assure you, if we lose to UAPB, there's a much bigger issue than bulletin board material.

I spoke with several JSU fans who stated that JSUU was told not to pull out the game contractually. But they did. Now you have a problem. JSU paid Summit Management (Fred Jones) $800,000.00 for breach of contract. Will they come back after paying that type of money out? A home and home may be the best route for now and then go back to the Classic. Plus, the agreement for UAPB is for three (3) years.
