I can't say the media is up to no good, if they are the university continue to add fuel to the fire. There were Housing issue at UTK, MTSU, VANDY and other local colleges at the beginning of the semester. The difference is this and other issues, since Glover's arrival on campus. And they continue to house students in the Trinity Lane area, parts are not desirable, because of the number of Homeless Individuals and Transits lining in the Hotels. Remember there were two TSU Students killed in a car accident in the area where the students are living.
With all the issues, at TSU one that I will always remember, after the Tornado hit the campus a few years ago. I left work to help clean up the damage on the Farm. I saw a bunch of people out there picking up debris, and thinking "wow" the students are here. Little did I know, those that were picking up the debris were from Belmont, VANDY, Lipscomb and MTSU, yes MTSU. Where was TSU Students, some went home and there were others on campus.
Has anyone notice there are Black Legislators, coming to the aide of Glover as they did with Hefner. Not even the TSU Graduates!

“We also had students in hotels last year, and so we’re familiar with that model and we will work them in over the first few weeks to be completely full by mid-September,” Sherlin said, noting that more on-campus housing will become available in the coming weeks as some students decide to live off-campus instead.
So, in other words, this is a recurring theme?

Yes. Still proof that it can happen at any university; and it isn't their first time either. But no threats from legislature to take over their institution as was the case with TSU.

Wonder how this will affect the dorms that are currently planned to be built on campus?

Wonder how this will affect the dorms that are currently planned to be built on campus? Good question...if TSU still builds our own dorms (this makes me skeptical), the 2 units will likely be in direct competition with one another. TSU will need to appropriately price their facility. However, if both are built, it will mean that there is no shortage of housing within proximity.

Actually, I wouldn't demolish the old dorms just yet. It's one of the few things that we actually own outright, which means straight profit if you can fill them up. Obviously you fill the new dorms first; but if our enrollment increases to where we can fill them all up, that's extra revenue that we can use for other needs.
