120, that students concern wasn't so much about housing as it is with online courses. At some point the whole housing issue just needs to be put to bed for this year. It's done. It's not going to change this year. Hopefully, TSU is preparing for next year by trying to secure apartments if possible. It's just going to be difficult in the Nashville market when apartments are so expensive now and availability is so low.
If there are issues with the online courses, then that needs to be fixed ASAP. I just wonder what this student has done prior to contacting Fox news. Notice that Fox didn't mention anything about how the student has reached out to school administrators to discuss the concern. And, why are the students speaking to Fox in anonymity? You're a student not some secret agent.

Just don't look good and reflects a bad image on the university (period)
If this is going to be a year after issue, TSU need to "spend the money" find better hotels, in a better environment.

"This year, Tennessee State officials opened Rudolph Hall, the newest dormitory on campus..."
IS THIS A CORRECT STATEMENT?

The students need to just go to class. And allow the administration do what they have to do.

Sorry. Yes that toilet is horrible.
That said, imagine a student walking in and seeing it. I'm sure they'd feel much worse.

The students need to just go to class. And allow the administration do what they have to do. Disagree. I'm sure you've heard of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Basic living needs must be met before we can expect any type of success in the classroom.

My reply was to a comment in September prior to this picture being posted in November 19.
Don't think this is true, I have seen this picture before on fb.
Notice, a particular dorm was not mentioned as they have before.

I'm aware of which post you were originally responding to, and I still disagree.
I can't understand why we believe students (some of whom pay good money) should just shut up and go to class. We're lucky that some of these students' parents aren't more involved than they are.

We're lucky that some of these students' parents aren't more involved than they are. No problem. You know I don't "always" believe the students or administration. Like yourself I believe there is a lot of work to be done on both sides, starting on both sides. However, when I attend a game or games at Gentry and the place is hot and I mean a high humid hot and during the games, students say it's the same in their rooms. Yes, I will side with the students. It's really hard for me to favor with the administration, when they continue to say "we're working on it" which has been used for years. A few years ago there was a problem with the water, reason a busted pipe - then the administration said "we are developing a maintenance plan - doggone - there should be a "maintenance plan" for every nook and cranny. On campus weeks ago there was a crew cleaning and replacing the outside lights on the Student Center - Seriously, some or those lights has been out for years - months, and the dust was "caked" on the fixtures. My nephew attended a summer Engineering program at TSU and the Rooms were Hot and Nasty. Family members had to clean the room, including the adjoining bathroom "GRC"! Like you, all of us want the best for TSU including students. But, personally, I am sick and tired of the same issues year after year. Just Saying - The TSU Administration as well as Students can do better

I agree with you, it's frustrating. And there are a lot of layers - lack of funding, misuse of the funding we have, lack of vision from past (and maybe current) administration, and probably students not being as on top of things as they should be.
I still don't have children of my own yet, but when I do, I want them to be in a safe and clean environment. Similar to your nephew, the day I checked into Watson as a freshman, my parents didn't even want to leave me there. We had to clean and disinfect a room that should have been cleaned and disinfected before any students arrived. If this is still happening decades later, then this is a systemic issue. While I do believe some things likely are blown out of proportion, I know that some things are true because they were true when we were students. I try not to be overly critical, but somethings are unacceptable. Every story like this that is made public (granted I believe the media is up to no good as well), hurts our reputation, and we can't continue to write it off.
