It is the nature collegiate athletics and the business of sports. Keep watching and you will begin to notice the patterns that exist. I guess this was kind of what I was getting at in my previous post. Jafusthinker, I agree with you that it's the nature of the business, and the reason why developing some semblance of self-sufficiency is important. Each game needs to packed and we should not rely on the opposing team to help fill the stands. If they do, even better. That homecoming crowd was all TSU. The JMC was all TSU with a few from Lane. This has to be the norm and we need to do whatever we can to encourage those in the parking lot to come into the stadium. If we are in the position to move up without other HBCUs we should do it. Playing mTSU, Vandy, Memphis, Western Ky, Louisville and others could bring large crowds to TSU games. Down the road, Notre Dame, Ohio St, UT... Now I would love for JSU and FAMU(which have tried it before) to move us with us. NCA&T appears to be quite ambitious as well. I doubt JSU will wait if they are ready to go.

I keep telling people that this is the way to go. Been banging that drum on here since before the pandemic. Just make a plan to do it, and get it done. Jackson State is going to be the first to make that move. And we damn well need to be in position to follow. Nashville is too prosperous of a city for TSU to not take advantage of everything it has to offer, especially from a business standpoint. With all of the money that was being passed around during Homecoming, the money is definitely there for the taking. Even with the lack of success on the football field, TSU probably has the biggest spotlight it's had on itself since the mid 1980s. If they don't strike NOW, they will be forever stuck in purgatory. The 1970s and 80s ain't coming back folks. Time to forge ahead and into the future.

We are three sports short of being eligible to move up. But it sounds like Dr. Allen is trying to work on that. I think baseball and hockey keep popping up because he thinks they might bring a little revenue.

But wasn't there some people in here questioning what is he doing for the school and what kind of plan he has? I still say swimming would be easier than the other two, but I can't say that I can't see where he's trying to go. And judging by his IG, he's not waiting on alumni to get us there. 🤷🏿♂️

SOME ARE INSECURE WITH TSU BLAZING A PATH THEY CAN'T SET FOOT ON.
Swimming and soccer (with a renovated stadium) should be easy.

What does the desire for TSU to move up to FBS have to do with Beth? I think there is a thread for that topic. Why not have the discussion there?

Took a quick look at UTM vs Kenn score and thought about this thread. Still think ovc should reconsider this Bigsouth merger and just pull in the remaining asun teams. Unless Beth willing to make a play for 16 football teams in 4 team divisions.

I'd happily take Peay back who left on good terms. I'd also take UCA and UNA, but EKU made their bed and can sleep in it.
I'd also be okay with giving G-Webb and Chuck South affiliate membership for football since they are actually Big South schools. Bryant and Robert Morris on the other hand need to try to make amends with the NEC. Maybe give them time to figure something out, but neither school is Southern or Midwestern. (RMU is only a couple of miles away from the Ohio River though, so maybe they'd be okay).

Are you saying it will not happen? Are you saying Beth is reconsidering? I HOPE IT DOES NOT HAPPEN. LET THE BSC SCHOOLS FEND FOR THEMSELVES. TAKE THE BEST FIT FOR THE OVC.

The merger between the OVC and the BSC is on schedule and will continue moving forward.
