She keep trying to not take from other conferences, she's going to lose her's. Also, with the way she described that alliance seem like somebody wants to be able to stand on their own soon.

In my opinion, she sounds committed to rebranding OVC football into a new-named league. To me, it makes no sense to go into a partnership with the Big South. Next year, The Big South will have only two football teams, the OVC will have 7 football schools if Indianapolis comes aboard. Why rebrand your conference to help support another league that just needs to close its doors at this point.
Seems to me that there is an underlining strategy at play: Either she’s keeping the partnership open to keep Big South teams going to the ASUN or she knows there will be more defections from the OVC.
The newness is exciting and I’m hoping for the best for the OVC, but I don’t want to be a part of it. Something would drastically have to change to change my mind.

Madness, said that the joint journey would have to fall under umbrella of one of the existing conferences. I think she's just entertaining a logo update to give a more inclusive feel.
Now about this ASUN commissioner retirement......... depending on how schools respond to that could change everything.

She keep trying to not take from other conferences, she's going to lose her's. Also, with the way she described that alliance seem like somebody wants to be able to stand on their own soon. I think if she was going to be fired that would have happened already. With regards to the alliance with the Big South, I think it's because of the NCAA that creating a one sport, football only conference is not an option that can be implemented simply. The NCAA more than likely has to approve such a conference and that takes time. So, it appears that one of the two conferences will allow affiliate membership in football. I suspect that will be the OVC. What she eluded to was that regardless of which conference carries football, there will be some new branding to highlight the partnership, but not the formation of a new conference. I'm with Madness, I don't see the need for the OVC to partner with the Big South. I'm obviously more concerned about how this benefits TSU, and I simply don't see it. I can only assume that TSU has decided to just ride this out until an FBS move can be made. Which, as I've said in another thread, I don't see happening in the near future.

One football conference and two commissioners, only one governing body? I’m really confused how that works.

I saw that on twitter but I cannot find any backup articles.

If some of the ASUN teams returned (EKU and APSU) or joined (Central Arkansas and Kennessaw State). But I still don’t think it would be enough. I personally don’t need a particular team to get me excited to attend a game, but since it seems to matter to some people, which one of these returnees or additions above do you think will get our fan base excited? Although I think the conference would be stabilized, I don’t think any of them will drive fans to the field.

Excited... none of them. But they would show up for Kennesaw (Atlanta) and AP to a lesser extent. For Basketball, AP has always been a good team to have in conference rivalry with.

Considering, the OVC hasn't made a lot of progress under her. I would not be surprised, if she leave the OVC for another position.
