What was the sideline penalty.
120, the broadcasters said one penalty was for an assistant coach running down the sidelines and the other for was a coach (Coach George I THINK) arguing the call. Either way they were BS to me. It MIGHT be a minute before I complain about OVC officials again 😂

Either way they were BS to me. It MIGHT be a minute before I complain about OVC officials again 😂 Both calls were unnecessary. Even their commentators on the replay stated they weren't in agreement with them. So, an assistant coach received one penalty for running down the sidelines to celebrate with the team. Eddie received a penalty for challenging the call down at the 5 yard line. Coaches in general are supposed to stay between the 35 yard lines. However, the official could have just given Eddie and even the assistant coach a warning an been done with it. I've seen that happen in other college games. They should have been penalizing HU for that horrible chain gang they had. At times it seemed like they didn't know when to move the chains. Even worse, there were times that the officials didn't realize the chains hadn't moved and was about to let a play start. MEAC and SWAC officials are worse than the OVC officials. The SWAC officials in particular disrupt the flow of game and often seem confused about what they are calling. MEAC officials just seem confused at times. In this game there was a sideline official that threw his flag for holding on a TSU player that couldn't have remotely been seen by that official. It was a late call and would have also given TSU a first down. TSU fans at the game were vocal about that call and several others, including a couple of no calls on HU for pass interference.

Ok, I am really laughing. "An assistant coach received one penalty for running down the sidelines to celebrate with the team."

For those who want to see the unnecessary call by the official on the assistant coach and Eddie, go to 2:23 mark to see the return for a TD.

Coming off my birthday cruise, I was in Baltimore this past weekend for the Baltimore Running Festival. Ran into several TSU as well as HU alums and fans in the airport. GO BIG BLUE every time I saw a TSU fan in their gear, high-fiving and all. Anytime I saw an HU fan I just wished them a HAPPY HOMECOMING knowing the Tigers were gonnadrag those Cows. MoooooOooooo!!!! YES, this chit was personalfor me. Tired of Howard dragging my Maroon Tigers every time we play them. So this was payback!!! Rolling out to BWI on my wayback, ran into some of the same TSU, HU fans with a big ass grin onmy face.

I saw a clip of a TSU fan on an airplane, do the T for Tennessee, S, S-T-A-T-E, U, University cheer on his way to DC. LOL!!! Some other TSU people on the plane joined in. Other passengers were looking like, what is going on here... LOL!!!
A friend went to the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture on last Friday during the day and said that it was packed with TSU fans.
I don't get to fly my car flags often here in the DMV, so it was pure joy for me riding to the game on Saturday with my TSU car flags flying and hearing horns tooting as I drove into the city. It was even more special when I got on Florida Ave. (a major street leading towards the HU campus) and saw TSU fans walking down the streets, heading towards the game. I just tooted my horn at them and they all reacted with waves and shouting TSU!!! or GO BIG BLUE!!!
I was also happy to see that our fans were really engaged during the game. I'm convinced that we may have occupied 40-50 percent of the stadium.
After the game and after TSU alum as well as the team sung the TSU Alma Mater, it was cool that most of the team ran down the length of the stands giving high fives to fans. It was their way of saying thank you for showing up and showing out. (Side note: HU chose to sing their alma mater at the same time and they were drowned out, yes their band is that weak. Also, I don't think their team, students and some alumni know the words to their alma mater... or maybe they were finding it hard to sing over TSU... LOL!!!).
I hope this season is a turning point for us. Our team deserves the high level of support we showed in DC in Nashville as well. It might be asking a lot for the upcoming BSOVC games, but we really need to get back to having over 10K for those games. That's not a lot, but it would be an improvement over what we've seen for BSOVC games in recent years. Obviously, I'd want to see closer to 20K.
Enjoy your week off Big Blue, then kick-ass the rest of the season!!! Big Blue fans, keep the momentum going!!! Support our Big Blue Tigers!!!

It is a huge difference between actually showing up for the game and not the social interaction...
I LUV TSU!!!

Big Blue definitely showed up and showed out. TSU was all over DC! It felt like homecoming continued in DC. I agree with others, it was a very friendly environment from the Howard and DC community. I enjoyed their campus and festivities. We had a few Howard alums say they were coming down to Nashville next year. I think they enjoyed the number of TSU fans that showed up as well. Heck, I saw some faces I hadn't seen in years. And most importantly, I think the team enjoyed it! It gave them energy.
Game wise...I agree, we can clean up some things, but I like what I'm seeing. The defense kept both running backs in check, limited big plays, created turnovers and controlled the line of scrimmage. Offensively, if we could just get our running game going consistently, I like our chances against the rest of our schedule.
