Still not as good as it should be, but can be a lot worse... About as good as its going to get. Started in 1999, and we still cannot seem to get it right. The obvious answer is damn near 90 miles away in our backyard....but, I digress.

No one is the same age they were last year. 2. I don't like the coach, he is not connected to TSU - they fail to realize, neither was Big John, Gilliam, Coleman or Cole. 3. All games should be on campus. Play in a place that's "oh well" 4. Have to pay to park - some forgot they had to pay when TSU played at VANDY 5. And the list goes on.

Obviously, attendance needs to be better. But also, what do you see when you go to the games? Honestly, our games are boring as hell (not the on-field product, but the atmosphere and energy). Similarly to visiting a church, if you visit and the service isn't good, you probably are not going back, which is why it's hard to get new students and recently graduated alums to attend the games regularly. Maybe we need to give away free beers or something to get people to loosen up LOL because if I didn't really love football, our games would be unbearable to sit through.

Once again, they would have to want to play TSU in Nashville every season. Here are AAMU's opponents on Labor Day weekend since 2015 2024 - Auburn 2023 - Vandy 2022 - UAB 2021 - SC State 2019 - Morehouse 2018 - Miles 2017 - UAB 2016 - MTSU 2015 - Cincinnati TSU is not the priority any more folks. Are the Tigers going to offer any SWAC school more than $250K to play in the JMC? If not, they're going to take a money game somewhere else. AAMU got paid $525K to play Auburn last week. I wonder how much we paid Valley to come to Nashville? 100K?

My hope is that we will be in a better place when (if) we got a chance at UT!! (who beat Chat 69 to 3)

^^^ For context, Miami offered FAMU $40K to bring the Marching 100 and they aren't accepting the offer.

I wonder how much we paid Valley to come to Nashville? 100K? I agree, AAMU is not coming to Nashville every year. It just doesn't make sense for them. However, they do present a natural, HBCU and geographic-friendly rival. It makes more sense to just set up a home and home series with them. For me, I'd prefer the last game of the season (the week before Thanksgiving). That way it's a set date every year. As for the JMC. We're going to have to continue to rotate teams unless we lock in a D-II opponent. Doubt any D-1 team is signing up to come to us every year...unless we move up to FBS and pay more.

Because of the SWAC Conference Alignment. IMO it would be hard to schedule A&M yearly.
Like most HBCU's, money games has the priority.
There is not a lot of talk from the locals about the SHC.

I wonder how much we paid Valley to come to Nashville? 100K? The flaw in your statement that TSU has to offer a SWAC school more than $250K to play in the JMC is that in the games you presented that AAMU played on Labor Day Weekend since 2025 they played mTSU, Miles, Morehouse and SCSU. I'm pretty certain AAMU was the home team against Miles and Morehouse so they had to count on their fans to show up for those games. mTSU is not known for paying more than $150K to $250K to FCS schools. AAMU hosted SCSU, I can assure you they didn't pay SCSU $250K either. I understand that playing top tier FBS teams tend to pull in a significant payday for FCS programs. But, AAMU hasn't done that each year since their last time playing in the JMC. If AAMU, ASU and TSU were smart, they would work on a rotational series. TSU should not expect any FCS school to want to play in Nashville every single year. That is just not reasonable. If TSU intends to stick with the JMC, which is a glorified home game, then it needs to work on creating a rotational home and home series with multiple schools that would be of interest to TSU's fanbase and the fanbase of the opponent. MVSU has never been of major interest to TSU's fanbase. Not even in the Big John era. AAMU didn't become a major opponent for TSU until the JMC. It worked well. But, eventually AAMU wanted to try something different for Labor Day Weekend. TSU tried a few other options but none would ever materialize into steady JMC opponents. I have to wonder if AAMU and TSU are even trying to schedule each other. My gut feeling is now telling me we've been fed a bunch of crap from officials that have stated they are working on it. Just looking at both schools schedules, I find it hard to believe that the two have not been able to work out a home and home series for this length of time. It's unfortunate because the longer the span between playing each other more we'll see the interest for even that game die.

I've said this for THEE longest time. THIS could have SHOULD HAVE been built YEARS AGO....DECADES ago.
