Needs : QB(1/2), TE(2), DT/NG (2/3), FS/SS (2)
Wants : RB(1/2), WR(1), LB(1/2), CB (2), DE(1)
---------------------------------- NEEDS ---------------------------------- QB : We definitely will need an experience QB via the portal. We lose both starters. Not to say Hagan, Crenshaw, Rhodes won't win the job. I would like an experience QB to be in the mix.
TE : We're thin at TE. I only count 2 possible returnees (Hoath & Foster). And we did not see Foster at all this season. I would love to get a couple of freshman TEs and 2 transfers if we have slots for them.
DT/NG : We're thin here as well. It helps if Jalen Bell returns, along with Lathun Snipes. But I believe we lose both our big bodies inside (Big Cam & McNeely). You can never have too many good/disruptive lineman.
FS/SS : We also lose both starting safeties in Green & Josephs. We know Villiers is primed for one of the starting slots; I'm unsure on the other. Seems like every year one of our starters at safety has been a transfer. I don't expect that to change this coming year. Would like to see #21-Jones and #24-Helton step up and command some playing time. I initially thought #13-King would be a safety, but he played boundary CB a few times the second half of the season.
---------------------------------- WANTS ---------------------------------- RB : Wouldn't mind adding another RB to pair with Gant. I like the ones on the roster, but Gant seems to be the only one that puts fear in our opponents. Teams stacked the box the second half of the year to stop him. We need either an explosive or big back (hopefully both) to come in. I am interested to see how Johnothan Moore looks in the spring. Also, we have a freshman committed who looks promising.
WR : Experience wise, we only lose one receiver, Da'Shon Davis. However, we NEED a deep threat. We'll need our line to keep improving to allow for a deep threat. We also need a QB that throw the deep ball (we have yet to see the returning QBs). I think a deep threat could only help our squad.
LB : We get Beard & Nelson back, but lose Green. We have some guys on the roster that could step into that role (Andrews, Rowe, or a few younger guys). However, it wouldn't hurt to add an experienced LB.
CB : I'm hopeful we'll get Jashon Watkins back next year. If him, Phillips and Hollis return, we'll have a good nucleus of experienced corners. However, you can never have enough CBs in the day of the spread offense. We lose Harper and Garlington. So I would like to add at least one via the portal, though I think we have a couple of freshman coming in.
---------------------------------- BEING GREEDY ---------------------------------- DE : Barring any transfers or issues, we should return our two deep at both DE positions (T.A., George, Walker, Baez). I would like another pass rush end just because.

RB, Willie Eldridge - transfer from Blinn JC with Canen Adrian, is still enrolled - had academic problems. He was no joke, during Spring Practice. QB, Between the three Hagan, Crenshaw, Rhodes - going to sound crazy. Out of the three I think Hagan, has the upper hand. TSU could use two good experience transfers.
I am watching the High School, TSSAA Playoffs - Championship Games. There are a lot of local and statewide player that looks good. Not sure if they will have the grades at the end of the season.

Ward's name was in the Portal. I am not a big fan of the Portal. The transfer, has made the playing field more even. Question: Can TSU get the attention of a "Top Notch" QB from the portal, like Nate Johnson from Utah. This is interesting: The offseason has already started for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. Unfortunately, things are off to a rough start. Colorado tight end Caleb Fauria, the son of Buffaloes football legend Christian Fauria, is entering the NCCA transfer portal. athlonsports.com/college-football/deion-sanders-loses-son-legendary-colorado-football-player-transfer-portal
