Usually, third party voting ends up costing Democrats. One thing about Republicans, as much arguing and bickering as they may do, once they realize that only one candidate can be the representative, they put all of their eggs in that basket. That's exactly what Abby Phillips [CNN] said last nigh about third party voting - candidates during her interview. She asked, if he had any problems with that. He was silent, and looked right dumb. The she asked would he dropout, He said no! Each time he called her "sister" she had a blank look on her face. His favorite words over and over "unvarnished truth and Let us bear witness" If you listen to him, he sounds as another reporter said "demonized" I knew was an instructor at Harvard. He left for a similar job at Union Theological Seminary - his logic for leaving is, "strange" in part it read "He closed with a complaint that he received only two notes when his mother died recently." www.insidehighered.com/news/2021/07/14/cornel-west-leaves-harvard-again

For those that believe in the American experiment (some would suggest criminal enterprise), one option is the legal system. However, that is becoming more challenging every election (i.e. local, state, and federal). Others that are more spiritually based, would suggest prayers. I believe every option available should be used. In theory, I am not opposed to a 3rd party; but realistically, how many times have we ever seen a third-party candidate win in any election? In most instances, it ends up taking votes away from the potential winner. If that's going to be the case, is it really worth it? I understand though, because I too am tired of voting for the lesser of two evils. I’m ready for a viable third party. I know we are not supposed to talk politics, but I’ll just leave this right here; the right is evil and the left is too left.

There is no rule on this board to not talk politics. Hell, we do it in some shape of form even when it is about hiring a new head coach... LOL!! Politics exist at many levels.
Let me also add, there is nothing that says a third party would act more in our interest either.
Until minority groups and women collectively initiate the establishment of new party or at the very least a powerful coalition that impacts one of the existing parties, we will not see the formation of a new party that can withstand the power of the existing two.

DC, Thanks that's some good information.
Years ago, I was at the State Archives and came across information on the Salary of Presidents.
Dr. Hale and Davis, "if my memory is 100% correct" Dr. Davis and Hale, monthly salary was about a third of the salary for the President of UTK.
Also, came across an article on why TSU, was establish a Masters in the Sciences. There was a TSU graduate with a degree in Physics, he wanted to work on his Masters. Applied to UTK, rejected, appealed to some of the Legislators, told no - there are no "N" allowed to enroll at UT. Later, someone "I think Dr. Hale, could have been Dr. Davis" submitted, the paperwork to start a Masters in Physics.

Any comments from TSU Board of Trustees, Especially Obie McKenzie. He was very vocal during the other meetings.

That was quick. Looking forward to what kind of advice or direction he gives the students, including possibly representation.

I am not sure why Crump, will be on Campus Speaking, is he now the legal counsel for the university. While the University Attorney has been silent. He is suppose to be the representative on legal issues and this is a legal issue. You would think, he would be out front with the BOG. IMO, something is not adding up. I am pretty good, at putting puzzles together.

My gut feeling tells me that an agreement was already reached, and what Bill Lee agreed to is all that we are going to get. Now, the students can collectively file a lawsuit independent of the university. And if some under the table deal was made, I hope that they do pursue legal action.

This is new money and wasnt discussed yet. This was different than 250 given (544 calculation) or the 1.9 mil given annually.
It is very important that our strategic plan includes this funding.
We don't need to restart a conversation asking us what we need.
We aren't going to make any progress until we get a new President.
More effort should be spent on the search and asking those candidates what vision thames have for TSU.

They need to flip seats. Lobbying the current ones is fine. A lot of them need to be voted out.
