If FBS is in the future, we can't concern ourselves with number of fans the opposing team brings. Keep scheduling quality opponents and put a quality product on the field. No scheduling the Virginia University-Lynchburg's of the world. If we can't get home and home with a traditional rival, this is the type of university that makes sense for the vision the AD and Head football coach has expressed. So let me see if I'm understanding you correctly. You believe scheduling schools like NDSU to come to your stadium is going to help TnST qualify for fbs level?

Right, no one was falling for the "we're playing the best teams", while sitting in the ovc watching dirt dry. TSU has always had two options: schedule the best team or a rival. Not rocket science. The "would've, should've" approach has us playing in front of 2K.

Thanks to Covid and now Monkey pox, I don't think we will never packed the stands. I remember seeing RV's and custom vans in the lots filled with true Tiger fans. This generation ain't risking their health if they can watch on TV. Probably will get them at Nissan before u can get them to Hale. Imagine the crowd on parade day. It will be worse on game day at Hale. It will be packed with every Nashville local looking to hangout. It will take our entire PD department to keep that under control. We have too many local gangs beefing with each other. The old days were fun, I don't know about this generation.

I think this is a good matchup. I’m glad it’s home and home and not just an away game like Eastern Washington. I wonder if this matchup will make some folk who talk eventually put up.

Playing rivals is one way to do so, playing the best teams is another way to increase attendance. In some cases that's one in the same, for example, JSU.

Improve attendance without relying on visiting teams (or their band) to bring a fan base. In addition, play tough competition which will prepare you for FBS which is a stated goal.

Got it, not to be a killjoy but isn't that what joining the OVC was suppose to do?

Moving forward... this is the type of scheduling activity we want to see coming from this staff. I tip my hat to Dr. Allen for building a staff that is getting the job done. We now have scheduling announcements multiple years out and recruiting announcements also multiple years out. This is an element that is needed to help build a solid program. Fans have to do their part as well. We can't have tunnel vision if we want to grow our program.

Their style reminds me of Southern's marching band.
