According to the OVC Football Report for August 21st, the OVC will begin using instant replay for all non-conference and conference home football games.
This is something many OVC fans have said is long overdue for the conference. It'll be interesting to see the impact it'll have on the outcome of some games.
The OVC stated that the conference has partnered with DVSport to implement replay which is defined by Rule 12 of the NCAA Football Rule Book. I guess that means that DVSports will provide the necessary equipment and training to conduct reviews. I went to their website and I saw where they do just that. I didn't see in their training schedule a scheduled date specific to OVC officials being trained on football replay like other conferences had done. So, hopefully the OVC officials were trained before the dates listed on the DVSport Calendar. Either way, I'm glad that instant replay has been initiated in the OVC and hopefully there won't be too many glitches in this first season of using it.
I wonder if TSU and JSU will use instant replay in the Southern Heritage Classic since both the OVC and the SWAC now use instant replay. It's a neutral site, so I don't think the OVC requires it when TSU is considered the home team, since it's technically not a home game.

This can only help TSU IMO; we have been on the wrong end of a lot of bad calls...
