Rant time...
I was born and raised in Tuskegee, so I know about a winning program from watching those TU teams from the 90s and early 2000s...
I found out about TSU in 2002, went there from 2003-2010 and the best team that I've seen from them was the playoff team in 2013.
If TSU cannot field a competitive team, then it may be time to start thinking about dropping football. It seems like there is no pride in the team.
Why even suit up and play if you don't care about winning? Why is it coach after coach, player after player, over the years that can't coach or play?
Maybe I'm too critical, maybe my standards are too high, but NDSU is not a superteam. Far from it. They are the same division as TSU.
For them not to show up and not compete is grounds for termination. If either of us didn't show up and do our job at work, we would be let go.
Maybe it's time to let the team go. The AOB can become Talladega and just freestyle without a football program for the university.
I'm serious about this. What's the point??? Beat UAPB next week? Woopty do!!! What does that mean? Nothing!

Nothing! I misspoke earlier. The team TSU just played has won 9 of the last 13 FCS National Championships. In 37 years, TSU has only won . . what . . 2 OVC titles? We are not like them . . not even close. How do we get like them? - recruit / buy much better offensive and defensive linemen - recruit / buy a dynamic dual threat QB - obtain a coach who can recruit at a very high level - do a massive upgrade of practice facilities / weight room

I can't say there's no pride in team. They were physically out matched as a whole in the trenches today, but I saw fight even towards the end.

To be fair, we were NEVER winning this game. The point spread was 35.5 and it ended up being worse, so I wouldn't overreact to losing to NDSU.
That said, I do think it's fair for us to look at what the other heavyweight HBCUs, teams in our conference and teams in our state are doing; particularly the ones who've made recent coaching changes. If these schools with 1st and 2nd year coaches are moving ahead of us, then that's a problem where this rant would totally make sense.

Nah, NDSU has won over 17 Div2 and FCS titles combined. Those boys are bigger and have been immersed in the culture of winning. It’s their brand. It’s going to take time to get to their level, and we’re not even close.

I have been one of the harshest critics of the EG regime, however I will not overreact to a game like this.
NDSU is a championship winning program and to put it into perspective their last coach departed last year because he could not make it past the semi & quarter finals in his last few years.
His record was 60-11 with a 845 winning percentage. NDSU plays to win championships at the FCS level.
TSU has improved, however so has everyone else in the conference.
The team needs to play well and make a statement vs UAPB because we will get tested early with TTU, CSU & EIU.

A second half battle like we had with UAPB last season will be disappointing. My perspective on the opionions being expressed across social media about TSU's loss to NDSU: It is very clear that a majority of our fans have no clue about the success and domination of the NDSU program. This is where ignorance meets the pavement and it just keeping riding down the road weaving in out of lanes and the destination is where ever it crashes. When I read fans making dumbass statements like "we shouldn't be losing to a school in ND," and those who claim they've never heard of NDSU so "they can't be all of that," it just make me shake my head anguish over the stupidity. This is beyond being overly HBCU centric. That mentality is a symptom of why our program can't find it's footing with current students and alumni. Too many of us don't even try to follow our program when it's playing against a team they don't recognize, recognize but isn't an HBCU, or not a well known HBCU. It's a mentality that is both frustrating and disappointing.
