I wasn’t aware, but it looks like they hired a search firm to help identify candidates. What a waste of money. If they didn’t have a list of candidates already in their Rolodex, somebody hasn’t been doing their job. No way a search firm is needed for this hire. It is a slap in the face to certain already qualified coaches. Correct. With Ty's overall record, AD should have had a list of 10-15 potentials on deck already.

If my memory is correct. TSU hired a search - consulting firm, owned by former VANDY Coach - Eddie Fogler. I remember, the former AD saying something like, how much confidence she had in Fogler, because of his background in coach and suchlike. If I am not mistake, NRIII was recommended 200 -2003

Sad to say, this will be a complete re-building year for the Lady Tiger.

I hope, TSU - Dr. Allen, put more more funds into the program. Don't expect to hire a good coach and win on a sub-par budget.

DC, you would know! Doesn’t the board have to approve any hires, such as a women’s head coach? Is this the delay in hiring?

I am not DC, but I think the answer would be no. Because, EG was hired by Dr. Glover. I think a serch firm was used to find, Abercrombie. Dr. Allen, hired Evans. I have not seen, wher the previous BOG was involved with any hiring.

No the BOT's doesn't have to approve the hiring of an athletics coach. At TSU that as typically been between the AD and the president for head coaches. I think the AD and the head coaches have the authority to hire assistants, etc.
Disclaimer: Due to the current president over inserting herself into athletics the lines of authority have been blurred, so I could be off in my statement. However, in TSU's past the AD ultimately made coaching decisions with the blessing of the president.

True, true, true!
DC. sound like a new reporter.
Hopefully, Dr. Glover will be gone and allow Dr. Allen to make the decision - with the new president. Need to get someone hired ASAP. It's time for recruiting. Considering, only two current players are returning. It's going to be a complete rebuilding year, maybe two.

If the Lakers hire a coach before TSU. We just have to admit, that we aren't a serious institution when it comes to sports.....
