Austin Peay needs to add hockey - they have a perfect 5k arena for it, down town next to campus, and there isnt a primary hockey tennant. Predators helped them start a club program last spring and the school president is a hockey fan from MN... would be perfect partner to grow along with TSU. Hockey could help attract students from the north.

I agree. It was easier for APSU to start a club level program because they probably already have students who play hockey in their local communities that they can build a club level team around. Because of the lack of numbers in terms of Black youth playing hockey and then going on to attend an HBCU, that is a challenge for TSU. They certainly wouldn't have been able to recruit players to be on a club level hockey program. So, it was the right move to start the program out at the NCAA level in order to recruit players.
