I'm glad we won the game, but as I texted a friend, TSU plays like a bad Harlem Globetrotters team. TSU's passing is simply awful at times. The team passes like they have good instincts/anticipation when they really don't. Especially Fitzgerald. I like that he moves the ball fast, but unfortunately he doesn't do so with control. He's even turned the ball over because he dribbled off his own foot or simply lost control several times. It's like his mind and physical speed don't mesh. I think Hodges is a better ball handler. We split with Western Illinois during the season one game was close the other TSU played scrappy and couldn't get control of the game. TSU played an awful first half in the second game only scoring 17 points. TSU played a better second half and got within 4 points before going into a slump that they couldn't recover from. Like the football team, I want to see this team play a full game of basketball. They tend to have lulls and miscues that allows their opponents to stay within striking distance. A strong game tonight will give me more hope that they can potentially get to the finals and who knows, maybe pull off the tournament title. It’s carelessness. Their “free-style” of play and looseness creates a sloppiness with the basketball. I’ve seen teams who run just like TSU who pass the ball with greater effectiveness than we do. Angles, precision, and understanding habits of teammates are keys to that style of play. Discipline and accountability instilled by the coach are the basis to this system.

Too much AAU and not enough basketball camps to focus on the fundamentals...

I said 90 percent of players. My point exactly. In the D1 era. It’s hard to do. Only 20 something have over 1000 points and it’s a lot more than 25 players that played at TSU. Easier said than done.

And it says rodgers had 1300 something at state and 1507 overall. My point is long as the kids left it all out there I’m ok. And I get real serious about my son Marcus. I’m proud of what he has done and the truth is only a few has done what he has at TSU. Let’s be respectful and understand that most of us hadn’t hit a basket in D1 Ball more less 1200. See u guys around
