Didn’t see the game, but it looks like our men’s basketball season ended much like our football team’s..losing the last 4 out of 6 games.
In my opinion, the season is only salvageable if we get to the championship game.

Post game interview.
In a nutshell, Collins - said he quit coaching - pushing the team. Because he wanted to rest the team to get them ready and rest for the OVC Tournament. TSU was up by 12 allowed UTM to catch up and win the game.
No, he was out coached and the team was out played - gave the game away with those fouls.
Plain and simple.

I missed both the UTM and UALR games but talked with alums who saw both. I was told that we looked bad in both. I know the transfer portal is a thing, but honestly if there's no point in bringing in a 1-year guy if he's not an impact guy. At some point, you need to develop and retain high school talent to have continuity.

At some point, you need to develop and retain high school talent to have continuity. TSU had enough talent to finish the regular season with 20 plus wins. Impact players: all the players contributed. But, Collins failed, to use Jitoboh 6'11 and Dowuona 6'10 as a combo. UTM Game, TSU was struggling. In com Knute, 7 points in 8 minuets - he re-ignited the team. Collins, pull him and replace him with Brown [27 min, 9 points]. He has been struggling for the past three to four games. Same game Dowuona 8 min, 2 points, Jitobon, 31 min. 12 points, he was double and triple teamed. He can hit the 3. Shanks fouled out. There was only one other player that could match Jitoboh, there is no reason he should not had double -double in a majority of the games. Now, Brown has been playing hurt since mid season. My question is: Why Collins was not playing: Gamble; Howard, Chatt. State, Williams, West LA College and Jointer. When Abner was in the game, he was a mini- Shanks. End of he season: The meat and potatoes of the team is leaving. Next season, unless something dramatic happens with the Transfer Portal, TSU will have a bunce of inexperienced players, trying to mix with a few experience players -Jones, Fritzgerald, Abner, Dawaon, Wood. I will be surprised if all the players will be returning. Brown, Grad Student Bellinger, Grad Student Hodges, Senior Shanks, Senior Dowuona, Grad Student Jitoboh, Senior Acosta, Grad Student

I think Shanks has another year. The transfer is good if you can get a player that can come in start if he got one year left. We got two player that never play over two minutes the whole season or not at all on the bench

Possibly, but the other team has to guard them too. Play inside out and take good shots so that the other team can't run out on us, and get back and set our half-court defense.

There were several missed opportunities this season. You would think Coach Penny learned that in this era of one-and-transfer, you better get whatever you can out of each player. The game against A&M, where we played extremely small, Penny should have had Jointer and Gamble ready to play with or sub out with Shanks. Instead, we played with Shanks and Brown as our centers.
