I've always wondered why we didn't go after the Coaches of the Perennial Power FCS Schools, My dream has come true, Really looking forward to National Signing Day now!! IMO, a majority of the HBCU's felt as there was a commitment to hire AA Coaches. And, some of the Non-AA Coaches, felt they were not welcomed at HBCU. Exposing HBCU's that they were just as prejudices as PWC. The only exception was "I think" Virginia Union, had a white Basketball Coach. Remember, the Non-AA Assistant Basketball Coach - "Espinato - something like that", years ago. Challenged TSU, about hiring non-AA Head Coaches. Roehl, will bring a new dimension to TSU Football. Let's face it, most AA Coaches are one dimensional in their thinking "Aych; Jackson" that's why PWC are winning and out recruiting HBCU. Also, this is true whether people will believe it or not, TSU has two things going for them E. G as the Head Coach and Roehl, both have access to recruits homes; high school athletic departments, that the average "AA Coach does not. DC, made a good point "recruiting" the Mid-West. It may take a year or two - coming to TSU - South will be a culture shock, to most players, including the AA.

It may take a year or two - coming to TSU - South will be a culture shock, to most players, including the AA. Not disagreeing...however, I think funding may have played a part as well. Most of the top programs were likely paying more than HBCUs (in general). Maybe TSU was paying more than most HBCUs; but how did that stack up against the "Perennial Power FCS Schools." Honestly, us paying our head coach a top salary is somehwhat of a new development and represents a re-commitment to the program in recent years. A step up from when it was briefly defunding or not fully funded during some of Coach Reed's tenure. Either way, it's good to see us open to going after the best. I don't care about race; I want the best. I have a soft spot for AA coaches because of the lack of opportunities for many in the past. However, I look forward to a cohesive, diverse staff with the best intentions for TSU.

I think we'll see some players in the transfer portal on the offensive side of the ball. Hopefully, not too many. Interested to see what kind of transfers the offensive staff will reel in.

This is probably the biggest hire in TSU football history since Big John (can't wait for the backlash... LOL!!!). It is certainly the best hire Eddie George has made in his short tenure as head coach.

Remember, there were several players upset with the play calling of Aych and Lewis. Their [team] concerns really came to light, when Aych decided to go for gaining the yards, instead of Lowery kicking the FG to win or send the game in overtime - think that happened twice. The inability, to decide on a starting QB. Lewis, O L-scheme, had to many issues to name.
