Lets be real, Hampton has NEVER had a huge turnout for home football games outside of homecoming.
Even when they played host to Norfolk State, its NEVER a sellout.
Low-to-mediocre attendance has been par for the course for the Pirates since leaving the CIAA.

That article wasn't necessary by either HBCU Gameday or the Delaware News Journal. Hampton's home attendance shouldn't have any bearings on UD's decision to stay at FCS or move up to FBS. No school needs such an excuse to make such a decision. Either YOUR school has the support it needs to move up to FBS or it doesn't. The CAA approved Hampton's entrance into the conference. I'm sure Hampton's home attendance was revealed at that time if that was even a factor in the decision. I'm pretty certain UD has played at other schools with similar attendance. it's not like they are a big draw.
