Boy, these jokers are .38 hot that the CAA changed their name from Colonial to Coastal Athletic Conference. Some folks in the comments think it’s a “woke” move.

I still believe that a 16-20 team SWAC/MEAC merger with 4 divisions is the way to go; but, what do I know?

Why are people still trying to sing doom and gloom for the meac? Granted, I was thinking of a football partnership recently that could possibly benefit them. However, I doubt they are in jeopardy if they don't merge or get new members.

I am not sure if the ACC & PAC 12 survives or not but I do think there will be opportunities for FCS schools who have their stuff together to move up in newly formed conferences or lower tier conferences.

I doubt they survive. If I'm a G5 conference I'd try to absorb the leftovers jockey for better broadcast and streaming deals. In the process 3 or 4 fcs schools might get called up.
I'm also of the belief that the big boys may hit a moment where they want to drop some dead weight and push for a redefinition of divisions.

Chicago State to the Northeast Conference. Damn that some travel! Sorry as OVC letting another team get away. Not a huge fan of Chicago State, but they are being railroaded by most leagues and the OVC was the best fit for them. If Lindenwood an be accepted, so should CSU. x.com/chistatecougars/status/1732075650176168008?s=46

he other radical solution is one based on strength in numbers, solidarity, and pride. That, of course, would be joining forces with the SWAC to form the only HBCU D-1 Super Conference. There would be 20 HBCUs all working together for the same common cause – athletic success while providing a culture and atmosphere that is second to none.
The idea was discussed years ago. I remember these schools were mentioned:
Grambling Jackson State FAMU TN State A&T SCSU?
And some other HBCU's - What happened.

I guess all the major players never got together. Honestly I'm not a fan of the idea of more than 16 teams in a conference
