I’ll start one with FCS realignment. It’s not as interesting, but makes for good reading and speculation on TSU conference possibilities.

I really didn't get much out of the article. But for conversation sake, do you see this alignment as a path to another conference or FBS?

The WAC/ASUN alignment I think is going to create a new FBS conference. Everyone else is just trying to maintain. Look out for the Missouri Valley though, I think if the Mountain West Conference is hit, they’ll come after North and South Dakota.

They talking about it, but I believe the whole conference moving up at one time not going to work for any of the conferences. But I can see a few schools being cherry picked from the MVFC.

The council also introduced new legislation that would increase the fee to transition from FCS to FBS from $5,000 to $5 million. If adopted, the change would be effective immediately for schools initiating the transition process from that point forward. The fee would be reassessed regularly.
It would also increase the fee to move up from $5,000 to $5 million.
These new requirements would appear to make a potential move that much harder for those who had some ambition.
The fee increase of $5 million dollars would account for more than one-third of the entire athletic budget of most of the 23 HBCU football programs currently in the FCS, according to the most recent revenue report by USA Today.

They just keep moving the bar. I saw it coming. It was too easy.

I like this! About time they addressed this b.s. free agency system.

I'm not surprised about them raising the bar to go fbs. Fcs should probably do the same.

Now the OVC is at 7 football member schools. IMO, the remaining Big South schools are outside the OVC footprint and seem to be a better fit in the SoCon or CAA.

Here's what I'm hearing now about mid-major conference realignment But in 2023, things are looking up a bit. The OVC stabilized its FCS football membership problems, at least in the short-term, with a strategic alliance with the Big South Conference. Last year, the OVC also added Arkansas-Little Rock as a full member, along with Southern Indiana and Lindenwood from D-II. Industry sources have regularly told me that the OVC wants to eventually expand beyond ten institutions, and initially targeted other institutions in the Midwest, like Grand Valley State, and the University of Indianapolis. While not completely ruling out additional expansion in the Midwest if the right opportunity presents itself, I am now hearing from industry folks that the OVC’s focus is now shifting toward Southern expansion. Specifically, I am told that there is mutual interest in D-II University of West Georgia potentially joining the OVC.The Wolves would address a few potential needs for the OVC. UWG’s main campus, in Carrollton, Georgia, is only about an hour away from former OVC member Jacksonville State. The OVC has never had a full member in Georgia before, but it did previously have schools in Alabama. Moving into Georgia gives OVC coaches and staffers an excuse to visit talent (and student) rich parts of the country, without extending too far out of bus range. Here's what I'm hearing now about mid-major conference realignmentIn terms of distance about a 4 hour drive.
