Interesting meeting, I hope the administration fulfill the "promises" if, no. I would not want to be Glover and staff and the students must be advised of the "changes" and so their part!
Glover, need to also provide some feedback to the SBR, Comptrollers and Governors Office.

The part about academic coaching is interesting. I certainly hope the students take advantage, because yes, it's extremely easy for students to get off task when they are separated from campus in such a fashion.

TSU will probably have to use the land on the northwest side of the campus which is behind Hale and Rudolph. A new library can be built where the old SUB stood, which is now where the greeks have their monuments. A new Engineering building could be built adjacent to the current one. The land surrounding the presidents home should also be considered for new structures. Land availability is not an issue. How that land is utilized is my concern.
Court Villa Apartments should be fine for students. We shouldn't be trying to provide luxury living for our students. It may not be the best apartment complex in town but it should be suitable for campus living. It appears the school will be looking to hire a firm to assess the complex to determine what fixes need to be done. I hope ensuring there is high speed internet and wi-fi is available is a top priority along with a means to secure all entrance points into the complex. If TSU doesn't plan to purchase the complex, I don't want to see TSU invest a boat load of money into it.

Can anyone tell me which “new residence center” they are referring to that was built in 2002? I thought we only had one apartment complex.

Property, behind Hale and Rudolph - that was I was thinking, while driving thru the campus yesterday.
New Library, possibility, located in the center of the Campus - the GLO information would have to be moved.
I will find out -

I don't know guys...I lived in Court Villa and it wasn't in great shape then. That was over 2 decades ago, so there has to be more wear and tear now. We may not have a choice for this semester, but that cannot be an option moving forward.

Sent Dr. Glover, an e-mail asking about the construction of the new buildings and condition of the Swimming Pool. Within 10 minuets I received a response: I will give Johnson, two weeks to response. If not I will be contacting Dr. Glover again.
No joke, while leaving the game last night. There were two alumni complaining about the condition of the pool/ There was a young man with a UTM shirt on, said - that's what he do for a living clean pools and stated about the fungus and bacteria that develops in untreated pool water. That it can get into the HVAC System and cause serious allergies.
My suggestion, is anyone with concerns contact Dr. Glover directly and its understandable that she may not be aware of all the problems on campus. However, as I have said several times in the past her staff should be aware of every problem or concern from alumni, students and community and act accordingly to make sure the concerns are addressed.

I don't know guys...I lived in Court Villa and it wasn't in great shape then. That was over 2 decades ago, so there has to be more wear and tear now. We may not have a choice for this semester, but that cannot be an option moving forward. From reading the TSU Housing report, it appears that TSU is exploring purchasing Court Villa not just using it temporarily. The report indicated that appraisals and other steps are being taken. I can only speculate that if TSU moves forward with purchasing the property and the State Building Commission also approves, the property will more than likely be completely renovated. If TSU enters into a long-term lease of the property, TSU and the State could require upgrades to each unit to meet specified requirements. And, there should be an ongoing maintenance provision in the agreement. Alternatively, TSU and the State could also choose to perform upgrades to the property as part of a long-term the lease agreement. In such a scenario the owner will typically require that the property could have a clause that requires the property to at least meet the current conditions of the property at the end of the lease. Obviously if TSU chooses to perform upgrades, the property will be in better condition than it is today. The big question is how fast are they moving to determine if Court Villa is indeed a viable option? If TSU is wanting to use Court Villa the 2023/2024 academic year, it will need to start no later than March to begin work on all 64 units. If there are no plumbing, electrical and HVAC issues, then most of the upgrades will be cosmetic and minor structural issues.

They had the 2022 listed as well, so I have no clue what they're referring to. Here's what they listed:
Ford Residence Center was built in 1998 New Residence Center 2002 New Residence Hall 2022
