I keep telling ya'll. These other schools are not going to wait for TSU to get good at football, before they leave them behind. Austin Peay has no business trying to go to FBS, yet, here we are. And I wished that TSU valued the fact that Austin Peay is right up the street, and THEY should be the sports rival that they should be trying to establish long term relationships with.
So if APSU makes the jump to FBS in 2025, that would be 4 schools within an hour of TSU in which a game could be played and/or scheduled against ( Vandy, MTSU, WKU, APSU ).
And he's talking about playing as a FBS independent? Which would be very difficult to do because they have to schedule 5 FBS home games. They would have to be affiliated with a conference. Conference USA has to be the target.

And let me add, the alumni, people and town of Clarksville will support AP in whatever way they desire. The same can't be said about the alumni in Nashville - TSU.
I say move on, forget about TSU!

I'm here in Clarksville and it absolutely blows my mind how much support the football team gets these days, compared to the dead years. The on campus stadium upgrade was the trigger that changed the football program. Then they hired the right coach in Will Healy to vault them to the top of the FCS recruiting classes. And despite only 1 playoff appearance in 2019, they've been able to sustain the fan interest in the program. TSU still draws more fans than APSU though, despite the lack of alumni support ( which includes my younger brother who lives in Nashville ). His reason for the lack of support is administrative and the fact that they lose more at home than they win. Not sure if that last statement is factually accurate, but it does seem like they drop at least 2 home games a year in recent years.

Watching the basketball game, APSU is getting fairly creative with the commercials. I'm impressed.

I'm still wondering about this idea of not being able to get a good TV deal unless you're fbs. However, if there's a real possibility of gaining income AND notoriety, we probably need to see if we can hop on that train.
