Surprised not surprised... Glad we will have Zack for an additional year. Some of the seniors may have another year of eligibility. Hard to tell after the pandemic. Perhaps, Starling feel threaten by Boone (S), Rouse (S), Gant (F), Thorpe (F) and Cunningham (F). Those young bucks, if all return will be like the "Four Horseman - ND 1921-24" All is needed is a good OL and two or three FB, to open the way When you are in the spotlight, you're the man. But, when you are no longer in the spot light, traditionally the Individual will as we say back in the day "turn tail and run" Oh well, TSU will survive Running back rotations are odd. Generally they rotate in equally. It is odd that rouse plays first half and then Starling second. They all should be rotated in throughout the game especially if you want to be a running team.

I agree. Even for someone like me who is not an X's and O's type guy can see some very odd play calling and player rotations with this staff. The best way to keep the defense off balanced is to rotate 2 running backs in throughout the game to give different looks at any given time. This whole thing of Rouse pretty much playing one half and Starling playing another just allowed the defense to be adjust to the RB. I can't imagine that Eddie played that way in college or the NFL. To me it seemed like they were trying to give them equal time as opposed to choosing one to be your No. 1 RB and the other as the primary back-up.

Zack redshirt, the rest were injured. Starling is in the portal. This does not surprise me at all. I would not be surprised if all the QBs except Ellis enter the portal.

Remember, what EG said, when asked what are they playing for. EG "for a place on the team"
Starling, is good, do doubt it! Why would he felt threaten by a younger group of RB., he should be there to help develop them. "Just a thought" I think TSU recruited him when he was a Senior at CR, but opt to go to Memphis - cant remember if he played, no matter how good he was in hivh school, there was no way he was going to start ahead of Kenny Gainwell1 - drafted by the Eagles.
those that are in the transfer, may end up with a broken heart, having to drop down to a lower level or riding the bench at another FCS Program or remaining at TSU.
Zeta, left TSU for Charlotte (3-9).
Sometimes, it's better to stay home.

The writing has been on the wall for a while about Starling. I hate to see him go, but RB may the one position that can withstand losing a stud.
Let's just hope that he's the only one though.

I thought Rhodes should have gotten a chance to see what he could do when things were not working out for Ellis. Rhodes seemed to have potential. Yes Garnett was in the drivers seat at the end of last year but that Lane game doomed him. I would like to see a couple of transfers and a couple of high schoolers come in. The others must do what is in their best interest.

There's so much more to Starling's game than running back. Our coordinator failed to utilize him properly. We will miss his versatility.

Speaking of promising offensive weapons that are coming back next year, let's not forget about "Fat Cat". He is probably the best of the lot and we really missed him this year. I expect that he will be about five pounds heavier with the same speed and elusiveness but with more experience. May the best players play! "Just sayin".

However EG lost his job at Ohio st and had to earn it back. Since Coach EG and Coach Pearson are from the same running back room at Ohio St., they are likely implementing the same philosophy for runningbacks at TSU.

True, and EG knew Starling could catch the ball out of the backfield, he has proven that time and time again. Starling and Rouse, could have been in at the same time, just a lack of creativity on the OC - talking about being one-dimensional. The OC., well let's say, Starling should have stayed and the OC should be in the transfer portal.
