I saw a mention on Twitter earlier about them getting some attention. I think it'll be short lived.

I don't see that as a problem. If they are getting attention in the polls (albeit, votes not a ranking), then it lends to them adding strength to the conference. Not saying that they are a power program by any means. Just acknowledging that their getting votes is good for them and for the conference.

Well, I will be watching this weekend as they take on UTM. Maybe we will have several ranked teams in a few weeks.

Okay... now a little perspective regarding this "powerhouse" team... So, Lindenwood has won two games. Okay, great. They've accomplished more than we have.... (shade intended)... LOL!!! Their first win was over Houston Baptist out of the Southland Conference. HBU is projected to finish last in the conference. HBU finished 2021 0-11. Now, I give credit where credit is due. This is Lindenwood's first season playing at the FCS level. So, it is commendable that they started out their FCS play with a win. That being said, HBU started playing football in 2013 and entered at the FCS level, so they too are still building their program. Lindenwood's second win was over Keiser University an NAIA school. I'll just leave that right there other than to say even as a D2 school LU would have been expected to beat Keiser. So, quite honestly, I'm not sure why they are getting votes in the FCS poll. That they are getting votes reflects what I've said for years, media people simply do not know enough about the FCS schools to make informed decisions when they vote. I can assure you the 4 votes LU received was simply based on their record with very little effort to look at who they've played and how they won the one FCS game they've played thus far. But, it is what it is and now they have to show that they are worthy of even those 4 votes. I guess if they beat UTM this weekend, they'll jump into the top 25 and then 50 can shout from the roof tops... the OVC has a new powerhouse!!! LOL!!!!

LOL!!!! Well it will likely take them a while but they are not shy about playing tough competition. They played NDSU recently. The reason I say they are coming is because of the amount of resources available to them (money). Yes it is good for the OVC if they continue upward trend. But we better keep an eye on them while we are in the OVC. They may be the next Belmont but with a football team.

UTM marched down and scored on 1st possession, then got a pick 6 to go up 14 to 0. Lindenwood answered and marched down the field and scored
14 - 7 UTM
