Was hoping AAMU would have a better showing. Valley fought back to get in striking distance with about 8 minutes left. Stalled out on a drive that could've made it a one score game. If they can improve their O-line play, they could make some noise.

As little as it's known AMMU basically has an entire new team. They were going up against a team thats the consensus choice to win C-USA. Valley is going to be ok,They looked good for the first game going up against a team from the 6th rank conference in the country though.

Tarleton played well against Valley for a team to only have been FCS since 2020. I will see how AA&M does against Troy. Hope the payout is significant. Two straight FBS opponents.

Actually Tarleton moved up to FCS in 20th with 11 championship. As I told someone else that brought the length of time Tarleton has been an FCS school, and thought it was horrible for Valley to lose to them. This was UAPB first year in the SWAC. They came in during the time when all the top schools were killing it on a national level. Look at how teams lost to them. They lost to us again but took us to the first triple overtime in ncaa history and that was one of Pete's national championship years.

Tarleton definitely not your typical D2 moving to FCS. Having additional scholarships just made them that more lethal. Some D2 have been competitive with FCS all the time. (Miles, Tuskegee) Lindenwood played NDSU. Will be watching them closely as well as Texas A&M-Commerce. I imagine West Florida would be tough to beat if (when) they move to FCS.
