ASUN and WAC Renew Football Alliance ATLANTA, Ga. – The ASUN Conference and Western Athletic Conference have agreed to renew their football alliance for the 2022 fall football season. Originally presented as the ASUN-WAC Challenge in 2021, the agreement allowed for seven institutions--three ASUN members and four WAC members--to build a new AQ (automatic qualification) opportunity into the 2021 NCAA FCS Playoffs. The renewal includes all ten FCS playoff eligible teams in the combined ASUN-WAC membership. The ASUN five include Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Kennesaw State and North Alabama; the WAC five include Abilene Christian, Lamar, Stephen F. Austin, Southern Utah, and University of the Incarnate Word. asunsports.org/sports/fball/2021-22/releases/20220518bz4t65ATLANTA, Ga. – The ASUN Conference and Western Athletic Conference have agreed to renew their football alliance for the 2022 fall football season. Wac and Southland need to get over whatever is and just recombind. Same for asun and big south. One or two less conferences would probably be good for the fcs.

Yeah the ASun schools should return to the place of origin. But Eastern Ky did not leave the OVC on good terms. I think AP will regret leaving the OVC (if they don't already). Not sure what they have gained being in the Asun. If the OVC has issues, they need to voice them and help resolve them. The commissioner should be in listening mode now.
But let's hope we will be gone soon.

I think it vision for moving up. And I don't think it's dead in the water. With all the movement and conference realignment...it feels like there's something the ADs know that we don't. And that's what start triggering these moves (outside of other schools moving).
