Watching the NBA draft last night, and their refusal to draft college big men, I was reminded of Covington's snub in the 2013 NBA draft. I was pissed that night. Covington had performed well at the Portsmouth Invitational and the NBA Combine. He should have been drafted. Nevertheless, Covington went undrafted but developed into a solid NBA player.
I went back and did some research on the 2013 draft. It is one of the weakest modern drafts. Of those actually taken in that draft, Giannis and CJ McCullum top this draft class statistically. But even though he wasn't drafted, our boy Covington is doing well by comparison. Looking at total points scored in their career, Covington would rank 11th in this draft class. He is currently ranked 8th in rebounds and 14th in assists.

I was surprised that Anthony Mason did not make the team.
