...Look a here Man, You have at your disposal some of the best receivers in FCS, TSU is touted to have an SEC caliber offensive line by many people...You have a big mobile qb with a strong accurate arm...These are your strengths Man...Use them, And we'll win these last two ballgames.

They got to run the football too. Hughes isn't ready to throw the ball above 30 times yet. That is a lot to ask.

We need a balance attack and variations in strategy. We simply can't come out and run the ball on first and second downs then throw on 3rd. That's way too predictable and we fall into that routine time and time again. This weekend while watching both college football and the NFL, I noticed that teams who mixed up their pattern constantly, moved the ball more. You keep your opponents defense guessing. Even if you're not successful at getting a first down, you at least keep the defense skeptical about what you're about to do.
Even in a 60-0 win we still showed our hand far too often. VUL simply doesn't have the strength and skill level to match-up against a TSU or any FCS program realistically. But they managed to sniff out several plays, especially in the 4th quarter when we pretty much had all reserves in the game. Our reserves didn't out play them as you typically would expect to see in a game in which one team is clearly the most dominate team top to bottom. I don't know if we were just fading because the game was so out of reach or if our reserves were just more evenly matched with VUL. Maybe we just trying so things to test the waters as well. I don't know. But, there were times that I felt like defensively VUL had scouted us very well.
We need to put the VUL game way behind us and prepare for SEMO. A win over SEMO at least secures a winning record for the season overall. Though our conference record will still be terrible, even if we beat both SEMO and JxSt. It'll be positive end to another fickle and disappointing season.

Oddly enough, it seems that Harris is done at TSU. I was shocked to see the kid Wellian out there.
That was his first game in two years.

DC I attended the game and fell asleep. You are correct VUL, found the weakness in TSU Offence and sacked the QB a few times.
Harris, was sick..
One of the announcers said “That was a good win” NO! that was a win.
A good win, was the win over EKU at EKU and a great win will / would be a win over Jacksonville State.

I watched a few minutes of this game and realized like others this game should have never been played.
I really can't say I was really impressed because VUL had spurts of success.
I have not been this down on TSU football in a long time.
I really look forward to the off-season and recruiting to see how things shake out...

That is a lot to ask. roknows50, I'm not suggesting we give up the run, I just think we need to play to our strengths and it is most not definitely running the football 60-40 Let Hughes throw throw and throw some more, this season is lost anyhow, It will only make him better for next year.

Lets start throwing down field more often...If I remember correctly Michael Hughes was known for throwing the "Bomb" when he was in High School.
