This has been another smear campaign that has developed in the world of alternative facts. The SWAC has always had some of the best defenses in all of college football.
They told us it was a “new SWAC.” But nobody told us it would be a defensive one.
Prairie View A&M ranks second in the FCS with an average of 233 yards allowed per game. Prairie View and Jackson State have two of the stingiest defenses in FCS football, both of them ranked in the top 10 of the country. FAMU’s 11.8 points per game allowed rank fifth in the nation, while Jackson State’s 13.2 rank seventh. FAMU’s defense has allowed eight touchdowns while Jackson State has allowed just six through its first five games.
