Various reports this afternoon are sharing that the College Football Playoff management committee will emerge from their meeting today with a proposal for an expanded playoff. The recommendation will be to move to a 12-team playoff that will include 6 of the highest ranked conference champions along with six at-large selections. Nicole Auerbach was among the first to share the news. The four highest ranked champions would get a bye while the other 8 would play their first round games on campus, Ross Dellenger tweets. footballscoop.com/news/reports-12-team-playoff-solution-is-on-the-horizon

I'm not totally against a 12 team playoff. However, they're just going to continue to screw it up with their favoritism voting. Now we are going to have to constantly watch an unworthy Norter Dame, or Ohio state even when they are not great.

I think he likes the idea, but to me, that’s a lot of games for these youngsters.

Well this was the "immediate" complaint when the playoffs were originally created. Sort of crazy to claim to be concern about 16 games being played, since that's exactly what's been going on with the fcs playoffs for years. This is proof that no matter what you do in life. You're not going to be able to satisfy everyone. People make me want to comeback as a tomato

Georgia coach Kirby Smart: 12-team playoff would be college football's 'greatest change'
As the College Football Playoff management committee starts to consider a 12-team playoff, Georgia coach Kirby Smart says he believes college football is on track for its biggest change ever.
"Most changes have been relatively small," Smart told ESPN's Marty & McGee on Saturday. "With the potential of what's been proposed ... [it's] probably the greatest change there has been in terms of major college football."
