Southern University has added a former Mizzou standout and NFL wide receiver to its football staff. L’Damian Washington has accepted a position as wide receivers coach at Southern, according to his Twitter account. He has been serving as Director of Player Development for his alma mater since 2020. “I hope Mizzou Nation never forgets me,” he wrote. “But I’m coming home!! #LockdownLouisianna I’m bringing the whole 318 to Baton Rouge! Darren Drago New Defensive line coach Drago is a Defensive Analysts at University of Texas San Antonio. He is also a Louisiana native and has over 15 years of college coaching experience. He has been a defensive coordinator, a recruiting coordinator, a special teams coordinator, a strength & conditioning coordinator and a position coach on both sides of the ball, all at the collegiate level. Drago began his career in the Southland Conference at Northwestern State University. As a player and a coach, Drago spent over 10 years in Natchitoches and excluding the 1983 team, Drago was a part of every conference championship and play off appearance the Demons have made to date. He was also a part of the 2016 Conference championship at Henderson state university, where he assisted in bringing Henderson their 1st and only NCAA playoff victory. He then made his way to the University Arkansas Monticello, where he was the defensive coordinator and helped the Weevils to their first winning season and bowl appearance in eight years in 2018. He was also a part of LSU’s 2008 peach bowl victory. Prior to that Prior to that Drago was the Defensive Line coach and Defensive Coordinator at SFA. Attachments:

This guy sounds like he is has the accolades to be a head coach.. Need someone to take a chance on him... He's a hometown boy. He went to high school with my nephew. We may have one more really surprise hire in the hole.
