I don't think it is possible, but I think the Alumni Center and Robert Covington Pavillion should be combined.
Teams could go hoop and then eat there.
The location should be by where the current location of the outdoor courts.

It's not if they stick with the plan to basically enclose and add meeting rooms to the existing outdoor courts to create the Covington Pavilion. They would have to increase the footprint of the structure significantly more to add an Alumni Center. Besides, I think it would take away from the fundamental purpose of both facilities. I actually like the idea of the welcome center being located on the corner across from the Hale and Kean. I've never liked that parking lot being there. A building like the one they are proposing would give that corner a much needed facelift and provide a better aesthetic than the current parking lot and view of the nearby homes.

I beleive that they will continue to have issue with raising funds for it. At least you have Covington's cash with it to make it the total 2 mil. That could complete it if the funding is combined. I am also not clear on how that venue with generate money? Are they charging for the hall of fame? Who will be there? Who will manage it? Will the fish fry be there? Right now, it is just a nice building.

As far as making money, I believe they intend for it to be a place that groups can rent for meetings and small events and conferences. I'll see if I can find a write up I read on it, but if I recall, it's intended primarily to be a meeting place for alumni to gather and hang out when they visit. The Nashville Alumni Association will be allowed to hold their monthly meetings there. The officers of the TSUNAA will also meet there when necessary. I suspect students will be able to use it for group meetings as well.

I was reading the building would be located on Davis, according to Dr. Johnson. The original site was on John Merritt, across from the Home Ec. Building.

Just have to wait and see.
