Seems to have had a pretty good turnout for a noon kickoff in Florida.

IF you fast forward to maybe the middle of the video, you can see more folks showed up than they did at noon. Honestly, ain't too many places I will be ontime for at noon.... on a saturday.... in hot ass florida I wonder how many came from Texas? The Ocean of Soul was in attendance. I would imagine not too many fans got away considering what is going on in Houston... God bless those people. Ok, BACK to football

Yeah FAMU did have a nice size crowd for a noon time game. Hope TxSU players, staff, band and fans are safe!

The announced crowd was 15,401. My guess looking at the stands would've been a little higher, although I have to account for both bands not counting towards the stadium. I would've guessed 18-19K.

THANK GOD the Atlanta Classic is returning. I pray that my Big Blue Tigers will be dragging those Snakes up and down the field in the Classic. I like the way FAMU's AD is thinking.

Why is Overton and the Tallahassee newspaper acting as if FAMU is the one driving this Atlanta Classic? TSU was pushing the idea of the Atlanta Classic this year, but couldn't get it to happen due to a scheduling conflict. We want it in Atlanta, FAMU wants it in Tampa.

But was TSU trying to own the classic. *Asking. Sounds like FAMU is about their money. To your point about cities, I think FAMU wanted a game in both Tampa and Atlanta.

I wasn't going to comment on this subject because it seems to me TSU fans have been very critical of TSU when the JMC is under 20K in attendance. This was FAMU's inaugural home classic to honor their legendary head coach and first game of the season and it seems we're giving them a break for lower than expected attendance because the game was at 12:00. And, then the subject gets switched completely to them working on a new Atlanta Classic in which we don't know the full details just yet. I personally hope it is not a FAMU owned classic. I know one FAMU alum that said he didn't think it was but didn't know for sure. He also said that there is serious concern that if they commit to games in both Atlanta and Tampa how that will impact games at Bragg because it will reduce the overall number of potential home games. He thinks if they do Atlanta they should let Tampa go and go back to a TSU/FAMU Atlanta Classic alternating the home team. Of course there's still great concern about the football team overall. Rebuilding seems to be taking longer than expected but there's a bit more hope under 2 year coach Alex Wood (who for some reason is not on the FAMU athletics site)

I'm not as critical of attendance for the JMC because it falls on Labor Day weekend which is not a college football weekend in our community. People tend to go to weddings or vacation on Labor Day Weekend. FAMU lucked out and had their game prior to Labor Day Weekend which was smart, plus they got it on TV. As far as the Atlanta Football Classic, I don't know the specifics but I've heard that FAMU will own the classic. You make a good point that we really don't know who will be running it yet.

I personally think Overton and the newspaper misrepresenting themselves. If FAMU owns the rights to the Atlanta Classic, then TSU is just stupid for letting that happen.
As someone somewhat close to the situation, if there is a game in Atlanta, tsu will play in that and not in Tampa. Tsu does not plan to come back to Tampa. If the Tampa game is advantageous, and Atlanta is not an option, then its possible tsu will return to Tampa.

And 15,000 is too low for a so-called classic. Its not bad, but not good.

And 15,000 is too low for a so-called classic. Its not bad, but not good. Well, lets be clear... a FAMU Classic at home is no more than a glorified home game. Just like the JMC. It'll never be a big classic game that people go to because of it being an event. Now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with any school honoring a coach by designating a home game with a title in their honor. But fans need to understand there's a difference between a neutral site classic and one played on a teams home turf.
