I was on campus on Wednesday, and noticed a lot of grading, trenching and bulldozer work near the Women’s Building / the parking lot.
I was told they were laying the foundation for the new Health – Science Building, based on the trenching this is going to be a huge building.

Latest camera shot from the time-lapsed video camera of the new Health-Science Building I wish there was view of the front of the building. The time-lapse camera is on the power plant building behind the Women's building. It looks like they are installing some landscaping as you turn into the drive behind the Women's Bldg. That'll at least gives the backside some curb appeal. Nice addition to the campus. For those who may not remember, the site of the H&S building used to be the site of a women's dormitory. In the early 80's TSU was trying to get it restored but the State would not provide the necessary funding to do it initially. An architectural historic society stepped in and helped to get the site designated as a historical site. And, just when the State was debating funding based on their findings, arsonist torched the building. Because it was a very old timber building, it basically burned like a piece of paper. The fire department didn't stand a chance at putting the fire out and saving any portion of the building. To this day many of TSU students around at that time and alum, felt someone in the State Legislature or on the SBR was behind the fire. There was an attempt to say there homeless people and or drug users had found their way into the dorm and set the fire. But, there was no evidence that homeless people or drug users were ever in the building. The fire department had determined there was evidence of gas used to start the fire. There was no electricity or gas running to the building for years because it had long been shut down.

Thanks for the history lesson on that. Was unaware of the back story.
Just to confirm, the nursing program is moving into the building, correct? Additionally, does anyone know if the nursing program have made any improvements in the passing rate of the state test? I know within the last 10 years (can’t remember exact timeline), it the pass rate was very low and there was some warnings of accreditation.
