Just a thought... when we play at Nissan, should this become a tradition for TSU? Imagine fans gathering on the Shelby Street Bridge for pregame festivities and then following the band to the stadium. Imagine the fans gathering around the stadium hearing the band as they make their approach to the stadium. Just an idea....
THEN.... imagine the band doing this in the parking lot before heading into the game... just another way to hype up fans and build spirit.
If they can do this for a Titans game, why not at a TSU GAME?

DC, I proposed this idea to TP last year, the fact that TSU is doing it for the Titans and not for their own fans makes me kinda go Hmmm?? I think this would be a MacDonald decision more so than the AD's. I just think he would want to fly it by the AD for logistical purposes.
I suspect the reason they did it for the Titan game is because of the limited access to the parking lot after a certain time. It is definitely easier to drop the band off on 1st Ave and have them cross over the Shelby Street pedestrian bridge. I don't think the Titans really care if they march over or walk over. I think that was TSU's Director of Bands decision to march and play along the way.
My thing is, events are held on that bridge all the time. TSU could host a pregame event on the bridge that ends with the band marching through. Fans can follow along and prepare to enter the stadium. They could even dub it as a TSU pregame pep rally parade across the bridge.

True dat DC, I ran it by the AD because we have developed somewhat of a relationship over the years, I felt like if she liked it enough then she would run it through the proper channels. I think we had a Thread on the "Old Board" titled "Aristocrats Need An Entrance" You may remember it somewhat.

Nashville love the Crats, the university has to find some way to make the Crats the Ambassadors for the university.
They have to do a better job marketing the band.
Two weeks ago when the High Schools band were her performing with the Crats, there were student saying things like “I hope that I am good enough, man can't imagine marching with TSU.
At the UTM Game, thre were people leaving because the band die not come.
I am wondering most of the members are not from Nashville, mostly Georgia, Alabama, Memphis, Chicago, Detroit, St Louis and other cities.

120, I agree that the band need to be marketed but they need to be responsible for their own marketing, like the athletic department. The university has to concentrate on marketing that reflects the university as a whole and they do include the AOB in that marketing. Sometimes I personally think HBCU bands get too much attention and it gives the impression our schools are about marching bands. We have to find balance in our marketing so as to not take away from the academic component of our institutions.
I'm really not upset when our band elects not to go to an OVC game because none of the OVC schools outside of Jville St. brings their band to Nashville. And, that just been in recent years with them. But it is very much appreciated when they do. There is no reason for UTM, TTU and definitely not APSU to not bring their bands to Nashville. The AOB is not going to gain much if any exposure from going to those games. But, I like them being their to support the team. That's really the real reason they should go to certain games. I wouldn't be upset if they considered taking a fraction of the band to some of the OVC games and not march. Just play in the stands and cheer for the team. Several SEC schools and ACC schools are doing that now.
I absolutely love the High School Band Day that MacDonald has initiated. I wonder if he got that idea from EKU because they've been doing that for years. I seems the high school students really like being on the field and in the stands side-by-side with the AOB. I don't if there's any emphasis placed on that game, but AOB should encourage all the students who participate to invite their friends to come to the game as well. They should send announcements to the schools of students who will be participating asking students to come out and support their classmate during the High School Band Day at TSU by attending the game. They should do a tweet about the event and have a webpage that directs people to view information about the High School Band Day and include all the names of the students participating, where they live and the name of their school. Parents and students love this type of stuff. And, all of that can be done with little to no money.
I also think the AOB should seek sponsors in the Nashville music industry to support building the music program at TSU and to support student scholarships. Part of the High School Band Day could be presenting on the spot scholarship awards to participants during the game. Even partial scholarships.

DC True “they should be responsible for their own marketing” We met years ago during practice, prior to you moving to DC. It was during that time that the university went thru a transition. At that time I thought it was for the good, but now I have second’s thoughts.
The university, wanted to control everything and that is ok, but you have to give programs to be creative. I recall years upon years ago, TN A&I, and Lane College would visit the high school I attended. The students fell in love with the band. And the love for the band continues. I remember Mr. Tyus and McDaniel’s, referred to the Tuba / Sousaphone as the Dancing Tuba Section.
I remember being in the ROTC Color Guard and marching in a few Christmas Parades, Clarksville and I think Lewisburg.
The Band use to play in the Cotton Carnival in Memphis
They marked themselves:
Throwing in another wrinkle, the university attempt to market the JMC and we all can verify they do not have the expertise.
TSU has turned out some great musicians. One of my favorites is Hank Crawford
