Not surprised quite honestly.
I hate that Dr. Glover is now in the role of hiring our next AD. This is a key position that is visible to the public, so it is going to be interesting to see who she hires.
Now, we get to see just how much interest there is in the TSU athletics department from those on outside.

Not surprised either. Although she’s had some ups, she’s had downs, and I know we can do better. Glover needs to get this one right!

The next AD and replacement for Reed, if he leave.
On the flip side, Teresa, may pick the replacement for Reed. There has been several, several letters of interest sent to Teresa and Dr. Glover.
I am almost willing to bet Reed will remain at TSU..
It's time for the Homecoming Fish Fry

The is tough situation. Do you look for the AD now so he can hire the next football coach?
Assuming the new AD will have full power, he may or may not want that coach.
The AD will also need to hire new people in that office.
If not, the AD will remain a high level secretary

I say, start the inquiry now. Advertise and close in January. Interviews in February and announce in March. That person can hit the ground running in the summer.

No way should TP have her hand in the hiring of the next FB coach... Thank you for your service TP but it's time to turn the page...

Morgan st did an interim tag for a whole year. Do we tag a current staff?

Morgan st did an interim tag for a whole year. Do we tag a current staff? No. Start the search and get the best possible list of candidates as early as possible. I'd like for a new AD to hire a new football coach. But that probably won't happen given that TP will be around well into 2020.

Dear TSU Family:
Tennessee State University has embarked on a search for a candidate to fill the position of Athletics Director. As many of you know, Ms. Teresa Phillips recently announced her plans to retire. I have appointed a search committee to advise me on selecting a new Athletics Director. In addition to the committee, TSU has retained the nationally recognized search firm of Parker Executive Search to assist us with this process.
The internal search committee and the external search firm will work together to develop proposed selection criteria, identify and evaluate candidates, and submit a list of recommended finalists to me for consideration. The search committee will consists of the following individuals:
Dr. Nicole Arrighi (Faculty Athletic Representative) Coach Chandra Cheeseborough (Men and Women’s Track and TSU Alumna) Dr. Deborah Cole (TSU Board of Trustees and TSU Alumna) Coach Brian “Penny” Collins (Basketball Coach) Dr. Howard Gentry (TSU Alumnus) Dr. Michael Harris (Dean of the College of Public Service) Mr. Steve Harris (TSU Foundation Board and TSU Alumnus) Julia Pierson (TSU Student Athlete) Dean Frank Stevenson (TSU Administrator)
I am confident that the AD search will produce an outstanding individual to lead the University's athletic department. Upon arrival, the new AD will be charged with conducting a comprehensive review of the entire athletic department, including personnel, to ensure that TSU's sports programs are well positioned for success. Our university has a proud history of excellence in athletics. I am committed to building on those successes and addressing any current challenges as we move forward in this new chapter for TSU.
Thank you for your continued support.
President Glenda Glover

With Howard Gentry as part of the committee, it tells us he’s not in the running for the position.

Monday, December 2, 2019 Track & Field Hires Whitney Fountain as Associate Head Coach NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State men's and women's track program and the Director of Track and Field Chandra Cheeseborough have announced the hiring of new associate head coach Whitney Fountain. I believe someone mentioned Cheeseborough should move to a promotional position. Maybe she plans on making a move in that direction with this hire. Maybe as associate AD or interim AD. www.tsutigers.com/mtrack/news/2019-20/9689/track--field-hires-whitney-fountain-as-associate-head-coach/

I hope the University doesn't drop the ball with this hire and goes out and finds the most qualified man/woman for the AD position.
