My curiosity is getting the best of me. I am wondering how applications were received and how were those three chosen. Were they chosen by the Consultants or the previous BOG. They were chosen by the Presidential Search Committee.

My curiosity is getting the best of me. I am wondering how applications were received and how were those three chosen. Were they chosen by the Consultants or the previous BOG. They were chosen by the Presidential Search Committee. From my understanding of the process, the search committee presented multiple candidates for the former BOT to consider and further narrow down to a short list. To my knowledge the total number of applicants has not been released. I heard that the search committee submitted around 10 candidates to the former BOT. That has not been officially confirmed.

It was not on the agenda on the Board of Trustees thread.

It was not on the agenda on the Board of Trustees thread. Yep, I saw that which is concerning, which led to me inquiring about the status. Shouldn't that be the #1 concern.

I suspect the BOT will have a special meeting to discuss what their next step is with moving forward with the search for a new president. I'm thinking they will want to understand how the final candidates were selected and interview the candidates themselves. I also wouldn't be surprised if they decide to interview more than the final three.

New TSU Board of Trustees will meet for the first time on Friday NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Friday, a lot of eyes will be on Tennessee State University, as its new Board of Trustees will meet for the first time. The new board came after a bill was passed in the Tennessee General Assembly last month that vacated the entire board due to mishandled funds and other issues. Several audits over the last year have come to the conclusion that the school struggled to keep finances in line with a lack of documentation, although there has been no evidence of fraud or malfeasance. TSU officials and supporters have argued that the school would not have had such a difficult time with finances if it was given the more than $2 billion that a federal report said the school was owed by the state. The school has struggled with being able to house students, renovating old buildings, and being able to afford the scholarships it has offered to students. www.newschannel5.com/news/new-tsu-board-of-trustees-will-meet-for-the-first-time-on-friday

Dr. Glover, announced in September 2023, that she would be retiring. Seven month later and no leadership.

I have no inside information; but would assume that the new board will review the candidates selected by the previous board. If there is one that they love, they'll make a hire. Otherwise, they may decide to re-evaluate the applications or even re-open the search if they do not see a group that they are satisfied with.
Truthfully, I would rather them be selective and "get it right"...but the timing is horrible.
