When that new baseball/multi-purpose stadium is built, they may as well add a small sized hockey arena + a 5,000 seat basketball arena in the same area as well.

When my youngest was in high school, he ran indoor track meets at the Airforce Academy. The facility had a 300 meter track, a hockey facility, and a basketball facility all under one roof...

TENNESSEE STATE BECOMES FIRST HBCU TO ADD COLLEGE HOCKEY
The Tigers will start off at the club level, but Division 1 is the goal. Could we see a Coach Subban in their future?

I say yes, after he was traded he said, how much he loved Nashville. He could sale the program and make recruiting easier.

Hmmmm. That could make some good press for a while. Nah, it'll die pretty quickly as a national story of interest. There will be tidbits of interest created along the journey of selecting a coach and building the first team. TSU and whomever else is involved in that process have to move pretty fast now to keep momentum going. We need to keep in mind this is going to initially be a club team, so there won't be a lot of attention given to the team until they compete at the NCAA level.

I was referring more to the media interest of Subbon if he coaches. But my idea of while here is just a year or two.

"A lot of times as Black hockey players, we're just trying to fit in, knowing that we are different," she said. "We say that we're a hockey player and maybe our community doesn't really understand why and how. But we love it so much. You see that there is progress and it's important to others."
Nice article, and words of encouragement. TSU Hockey, will be successful! One of the most important things that have to change is the mindset of TSU Alumni and others - we have to support. Iwas at Dick's Sporting Goods and asked, will they carry the TSU Jersey - answer "Dick's will" when one we get all the details. Now I am thinking another Sponsor -
We has always "fitted in" the problem was the lack of exposure and the same can be said for non-AA that live in the South as someone previously mentioned when Dr. first mentioned Hockey at TSU. AA and others that lived in the Northern and Upper East Coast has been exposed to the sport.
One of the reasons most didn't play Hockey is the overall cost of equipment and ice time.
