I think some would purchase the package, but it doesn’t mean they’ll show up to the non-homecoming game.

What do you guys think would happen if we no longer sold single game tickets? Instead, sell 2-3 game single packages. Example, since everyone seems to want to come to Homecoming, make the Homecoming ticket a package with another OVC game. If I'm a non-season ticket holder, I have to buy a package in order to get a HC ticket. Could it work? Maybe allow advance purchase for single game tickets only to season ticket holders (who in most cases won't need them anyway). That’s a tough one. I and I think those on this board sees buying tickets as not only an entertainment option but also a means of financially supporting athletics. Even if you can’t dish out $1K, $10K, etc. if you have the money to buy gas and dranks to tailgate surely you can afford a ticket lol. You can always give your ticket(s) to someone if you don’t want to go in but at minimum get a receipt and purchase a game ticket. Unfortunately the vast majority of our community only considers the entertainment side of things. Its also time for the AD to make plain the short term/long term goals and explain the details of the journey. Unless I’ve missed it everything so far has been high level talk. For example if our season ticket count is A announce a campaign to increase it to B by X time.

At this point I'm afraid the negative kickback from naysayers would discourage many from purchasing a package. Now if the team had finished above .500 this year, then maybe that would go over decently. Do season ticket holders have a specific section?

I have had the same section and seat (s) since season tickets were available. A season ticket holder can change their seats, but the first offer goes to the current season ticket holder. That's one of the reasons TSU started contacting season tickets early. Selling 2-3 game tickets, may be difficult, I have been present, when individuals only want tickets for the JMC, SHC and Homecoming. This season is going to be interesting!

I agree, they probably won't come. But as long as we have the sale, we have our numbers.
We all agree that fans pick and choose games; so let's make it less convenient for them to do so.
Using last year's schedule as an example, if I want a JMC single ticket, then I have to buy either a UTM, EIU or SEMO single ticket as well. If I want a HC ticket, then I have to buy another UTM, EIU or SEMO single ticket. By the time they buy those 4, they may as well get the season ticket and be done. If they come, they come. If not, oh well.

Years ago, TSU had a billboard on I40 & 28th with a football schedule - need to start back with more advertisement.
Unless, individuals are alumni, more than likely they are not familiar with the the football or basketball schedule.
Dr. and his staff, need to do a better job advertising the programs, if not they need to move their butt on -
Again, years ago - we could buy a Sports Package, Football and Basketball "Men and Women"
Still need a SID

Marketing alone is not going to significantly make a big difference. I have viewed this issue from a similar perspective at other institutions.

Agreed, but right now we could use a lot more marketing. And it's probably one of the easier places to start.

Jafus I agree...NOT JUST marketing. But its a good place to start. Throw in some other factors too.

Let's try not just trivialize everyone's comment.
We all know that there are many factors that help with attendance.
Just because someone mentions one thing, doesn't Mean that they only think it is one factor.
