Man, I would love to be at this one. Whenever the Jags and JSU play,
I always reminisce about that first SWAC Championship Football Game in 1999.
Birmingham's Legion Field, SU side packed, JSU side packed. You could
cut the tension with a knife and the energy was freaking ELECTRIC.

If I am not mistaken, the game was on BET when BET was still showing
Black college football on their network - how I do miss those days.

Tried to get one of my potnas to roll with me to the Ham for the game.
Cannot peel that negro from up under his wife....but she had plans
with her girlfriends. Then as he is watching it on tv, "maaaaan,
I know I should have rolled with you "

Ed Pratt: Big HBCU showdown a chance to boast, and to remember

A football game between Southern University and Jackson State University will be played Saturday. Both are proud historically black colleges, commonly called HBCUs, representing Louisiana and Mississippi, respectively.

What already was a giant matchup between the two Southwestern Athletic Conference foes has taken on something larger now that ESPN’s “College GameDay” will showcase the game to its 2.1 million viewers. HBCUs don’t usually get this kind of treatment.
