It’s a good thing you guys stayed in the OVC, I can see the conference growing by at least 2 football playing members and maybe 1 more basketball only school.
I don’t see any Div2 schools moving up to join the ASUN or any FCS schools joining either. The ASUN will probably lose some basketball only members too…specifically Queens College and Bellarmine and Lipscomb

I agree that TSU made the right decision in staying put for right now. Austin Peay, while they're not saying it, is probably regretting moving out of the OVC. ASUN seems to be losing members left and right, and might even struggle to even have a football playing conference in 2025. Unless Austin Peay themselves think they can move up in ranks.
But the Kennesaw State move illustrates exactly what I've been saying about TSU. If they have any plans to move up, they can't wait until they become good at football. Do it NOW, before you don't have anywhere to go. Conference USA is looking for anybody to join that conference. It's basically full of FCS teams anyway.
They will definitely make a play for Jackson State, to see if they're interested also.

Yep, I agree. We do not have to be a perennial power to move up. It helps and I would want a competitive team to say the least...but it's not a requirement. My main concern/requirement is funding. Harping on KSU...that school has grown so fast over the last two decades. It's crazy! They're reaping the benefits of the proximity to Atlanta. They built their foundation in academics. Same with Georgia State. Same with MTSU, they grew their enrollment so fast. Here's a quote from KSU's website, "As the third largest university in Georgia, Kennesaw State has nearly 43,000 students enrolled." [ www.kennesaw.edu/about/index.php ] Our enrollment is growing, which will help with funding. Of course, us as alums and supporters have to make sure we do our part. And continued donations and sponsorships from corporate partners which Dr. Allen and Coach George have started to build a better foundation for. If we get the offer, I'm sure we'll go!

that 8k seat stadium may quadruple in capacity in 3 years, or a new stadium will be built. So how would this affect the Kennesaw and TSU home and home schedule in 2024/2025?

It’s scheduled for 2023-24. But good question.

I hope we're in a situation where we either stay on the schedule, or the buy us out.
But when did Norfolk St. slip on the 2023 schedule?

They'll play at that stadium with the construction part of the stadium blocked off. Home side should be the last thing to be renovated, while everything else is built up.

But I could definitely see that being the Homecoming game that is moved to Nissan. It's also interesting that Jackson State has not been removed from the schedule. I hoping they're moved sooner than later, so that TSU can go ahead and fill that date. Nashville is buzzing today. Absolutely flawless weather right now.

Supporter, you know you're going to have a couple of people get mad at you for noticing that it's still there.

I think JSU is still there because technically the game is still on. They are not out of the game yet.

Can you guys start a new thread under the TSU football forum to discuss the Norfolk game? This is supposed to be about KSU moving up to FBS.

My hope is that the move by KSU serves to expedite a decision on the part of TSU.. Slots are filling up.
