WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Head Coach Eric Dooley says he is more concerned about getting Southern ready to face LSU on Saturday than he is about what mood the Tigers might be in after losing their season-opening game to Florida State on a blocked extra-point kick. hbcugameday.com/2022/09/06/lsu-game-comes-into-focus-for-southern/

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Y'all act like I'm the coach. My only role in this matter is to cheer and support. 🤣🤣🤣 Lol just an analysis. Well my analysis for what it's worth is they simply need to come out and play them just as hard as they did in any state playoffs or championship game and let the chips fall where they may. They can hangout later.

Southern, coach Eric Dooley finally can put focus on historic matchup with LSU Like many football coaches, Eric Dooley of Southern knows how to tap dance around questions about future opponents. This week, Dooley’s time is up as Southern travels across town to play LSU in a game with off-the-chart historical significance. The two schools never have met in football despite residing in a football-mad state and city. www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/article_96409bce-2e29-11ed-bec5-cfaccf8cdb7b.html

If SU get's on the board early and can contain the QB scrambles...this might go totally south for LSU real quick! FSU is much improved, but I was not impressed with LSU's scheme at all. They came back strictly on guts. One thing Dooley's team can do is score, if that holds true, I like SU's chances to make a statement.

LSU, Southern coaches talk about upcoming historic matchup BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - It’s the game most experts and even former players from both schools never thought they’d see. LSU and Southern will square off in Death Valley on Saturday, Sept. 10. “Bringing them both together is an incredible thing for the city,” said LSU head coach Brian Kelly. “This doesn’t happen. How many teams get together from the same city? UCLA and USC? I can’t think of many others.” www.wafb.com/2022/09/07/lsu-southern-coaches-talk-about-upcoming-historic-matchup/

Southern versus LSU is about football — and everything else, too The history between the two schools make it deeper than a “money game.” We are days away from pigs flying. We are days away from hell freezing over. We are a couple of days from what was once unimaginable becoming reality when Baton Rouge’s two Division I football programs take the field Saturday as Southern goes to South Baton Rouge to take on LSU. Is this your average FCS-vs-Power 5 matchup you see this time of the year? On paper, perhaps. However, the history — on and off the field — between the two colleges, along with the city they share, makes this a little deeper than other “money games” you will see on the slate. hbcusports.com/2022/09/07/southern-versus-lsu-is-about-football-and-everything-else-too/

LSU and SU fans prepare for competitive weekend BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Two universities in the Capital City are facing off to a legendary experience. Fans of both Jags and Tigers, young and old, are getting ready for the historic face-off. “For all of us and especially students, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Gordon Monk, CEO of LSU Alumni Association. “Our universities have been around and played football for a very long time and this is the first time that we will get to play each other on the field. Judy Martin-Davis, also known as “Lady Jag,” has been to every Southern University football game for the past few decades. www.wafb.com/2022/09/07/lsu-su-fans-prepare-competitive-weekend/#l7sczqkwvmn7uqud6j
