If we lose this game I'm putting this one on the offensive coordinator for two possessions of poor play calling. Got away with it against Georgia State, came back to bite us tonight. Hughes needs to be the starter moving forward.

This was not a rebuilding year. That's what hurts.

Horrible way to lose a game. Poor play calling. Poor awareness. Breakdowns all around in the most critical moments of the game.

When we had APSU's defense guessing... we went ultra conservative and handed them the ball with back to back 3 and outs with just under 5 minutes to play. Makes no sense. Especially since it was your QB's arm that got you the lead. That play calling showed not trust in your offense. No confidence in your QB.
I'm not a believer is defenses winning games. Our strategy put way too much on the defense when the offense had established control. And, they took that away from them.

I'm pissed off!!!
Look, can someone who's close to the team say if the team cares about OVC play? It's the same damn story every year where we beat HBCU teams and lose most of our conference games.
I'm tired of it!
If that's the case, then TSU NEEDS TO GET OUT OF THE OVC! It's NO excuse for them to lose to Austin Peay or any other OVC team other than JSU. We have WAY more talent than these other teams do. I'm ready for a change in everything! Get the AD and coach out of there!
Contact Dino Babers and see if one of his people who runs his style of offense will come in and take over coaching this team. We are the only HBCU that can really win it all and we mess it up EVERY DAMN YEAR.
Ridiculous!

Well, NCA&T is doing pretty well both in and out of conference right now. I hope they continue. To me they are the top HBCU program. I do think the OVC is tougher than the MEAC overall. I have to disagree that we have more talent than other OVC teams other than JxSU. There's some really good talent on several of the OVC teams. It's how you coach and develop that talent that counts.
But hey, Savannah State is dropping from D1 which means the MEAC will have an open spot.........

Yeah, Dino's scheme on both sides of the ball was like a well oiled machine and he has taken it to Bowling Green and now Syracuse. It's like there doesn't seem to be much attention to detail when it comes to philosophy and game planning. Talent alone will not get it done. I think we are more talented than Peay but to be honest they play as a team and seemed to have more football smarts on the field and sidelines for this game.

It's time to turn the page and go out and find QB's who will fit your system instead of the quick fix.
The energy and trajectory of this program is going in the wrong direction.

We do not have more talent then Austin Peay. I’m sorry people. They have two QBs that are better then ours. Also only place I think we are better then them is WR. They had the No. 1 recruiting class and it showed. The problem is now we have to worry about this team for years to come.

Our strategy put way too much on the defense when the offense had established control. And, they took that away from them. DC, I agree! I've never liked that approach of telling the defense, y'all win the game. Or if the offense gives you a lead, you have to win the game. That's BS! We didn't get the lead that way, so we won't hold the lead that way. And when a team comes back, the offense can't just turn it back on. That notion needs to stop. Every year we had slow starts. At some point, this has to stop. Play one week at a time and take every opponent serious. That's the difference between the HBCU portion of the schedule and The OVC portion. We don't play Grambling or A&T, so we're more talented! That's not the case in the OVC. And we seem to get out coached more times than not. It's sad!

I understand the frustration but you do realize this is not the same Peay team that lost 27 games in a row right? Peay has a #1 recruiting class in the FCS and possibly a top 10 defense THIS YEAR. This isn't the same ol Peay. From an outsiders perspective that was at the game Saturday, I never felt that it was a HC game. I never saw the excitement from TSU's fan base except in the tailgating. Seemed like once everyone got in the stadium, the excitement was out the door. And I was also disappointed in the band. Obviously the main reason I went to the game was to watch the Govs but I LOVE the TSU band. I could listen to them anytime, anywhere and could not wait to see what kind of performance they had during HC. But I was not as impressed. I was more impressed with last years performance at Peay than I was Saturday night. So, as a fan, I can understand the frustrations. Plus I'm sure TSU losing didn't help either. And I haven't even mentioned the traffic which I will refuse to talk about cause I'll take up a whole page for that alone. Good luck the rest of the season

I am so sick and tired of hearing Reed say “I did not prepare the team”
Coach, this is a broken record. The answer is the “Coaching Staff” did not prepare the team, especially the OC. Reed is beginning to remind me of Hughes that coached at Jackson State years ago. After each loss, there was an excuse.
My question is “When will the team be prepared”
