I've got about 100 in the clip LOL
Unfortunately, today's bands (probably besides SU) don't really play this stuff anymore. It's all looped rap tunes with tuba breaks, trombone chords and screaming trumpets and mellophones.

I hate it!!! I can barely watch a 5th quarter or any stands battle. After 3 or 4 songs, everything sounds the same. There used to be a day when you could close your eyes and know by the style what band you were listening to. Rap songs are needed to hype the teams up, but in a 5th?? I need to hear some real tunes!

Some of these probably will not work, but I just enjoy throwbacks & old school joints... Some songs are naturally band friendly. But, I've heard some bands play (and kill) songs that you'd never think of as a "band song". The arrangement is critical. Funk and groove are both good, but arrangements also need aggression, especially if another band is across the field from you.

I think it's more about this than what song or era you choose to play. Finding songs that can be arranged for a band is critical to presentation. As far as era goes, it needs to balance out to cater to all fans. And I agree, screaming horns the whole time is not my vibe. I listen to today's music and you can bring music out of some of the rap/trap songs, especially the ones that are sampled from older songs. It's just matter of being open minded and able to arrange it. I would like TSU to pick up more upbeat/uptempo songs.
